Calling before 7 month window

Can you call MS before the 7 month window to see what's available?

For example, you want a Sat/Sun/Mon and you plan to call day by day. You don't want to book the Sat if the Sun/Mon are booked.

Yes you can, I would try calling mid day when it is not too busy. The only problem is just because it is available now does not mean it will be available then. I was calling day by day and on my 3rd day, I did ask them to double check that the next few days were still available and they said yes. The next moring I called and they told me not only was my 4th day now booked but my 5th through 9th days were bookes, so someone who had the 11th month priority called and booked it!

Although I don't know if technically you can, I have called and booked my home resort before 7 months, knowing that I'm going to be looking to switch at the 7 month window (to a non-home resort). CMs, when I asked nicely, were always very willing to check availability at my non-home resort. However, this isn't always a good representation of availability at 7 months. One time at 10 1/2 months out, I was told that my non-home resort was already booked for the dates I would be looking for. However, much to my pleasant surprise, when I called back at 7 months, the resort I wanted had availability. So I feel a little guilty that I really just wasted the CM's time by asking about availability there when I called at 10 1/2 months.

Yes, you can, but it really doesn't tell you much.

Availability changes frequently. Many members change reservations/resorts at the 7 month mark. Waitlists can also work in your favor. IMHO, relying on information received before your window opens isn't the best strategy.
