Calling Aulani expert status

This is our first DVC trip, so bare with me… I’m in learning mode.

#1 I have the Aulani app and I have the MDE app. Do I need to use the MDE app at all, or only the Aulani app?

#2 I’m thinking it’s just Aulani, but I don’t see anywhere to book any type of reservation. Dinner, luau, cabana. Our vacation in late January. Are the options just not showing up because we aren’t within the time frame? Will they show on the Aulani app when within the time frame? Where would I look for them?

#3 Room request. I don’t see where I can type anything in. It just shows a drop down with “near lobby” or “none.” Where do I need to go to type in a room request?

I’m not an expert but here’s notes I took when planning because it was all so confusing to me.

I used only the Aulani app except for photopass you will use the Disneyland mobile app for that.

Room requests are done by calling in or chatting online you can’t do in the app.


This is the link to book activities. 30 days out at 7am Hawaii time. I could not ever book in the app only via this link. It day by day not beginning of reservation. So you have to set an alarm to be ready to book each day. Also it's a rolling 30 days not trip calendar day, example reservation Aug 1 and book on July 1, so be sure to count out the days on your calendar. Tip: Ukulele books the quickest so try for that before any others.

Rentals for Cabanas is 90 days out midnight Hawaii time. You have to call in for this as well.
