My family likes TL and BB better than all of the other Disney Parks. Next year our vacation will include only 1 of the other parks (probably Epcot) and the rest of the time spent at TL (2 days), BB (2 days) and probably we will stay at Yacht or Beach Club so we check out the Stormalong Bay mini-water park there. Has anyone stayed there, how is Stormalong Bay??
Very little seems to be written about the water parks, tips, secrets, etc... So I am hoping that we can give each other tips & ideas and learn things we didn't know about the parks.
I'll start with this great tip that we learned from one of the lifeguards on the TL lazy river. Go to park when it first opens (opens 1 hour early for resort guests), instead of heading straight to the slides as most others do, be one of the first ones on the Lazy River.
I take DS (7) who loves to wear goggles and go underwater. It is totally amazing the amount of money you will find in the Lazy River. We averaged $5-$15 per day in change. Be sure to bring something to put all of your money in or purchase one of the waterproof plastic things to wear around your neck that are sold in the gift shops.
Lifeguard told us that people throw money off the bridges to make wishes when they leave at night. So check near the bridges. Also, check at each area where people get on/off, money tends to come out of their pockets when they get on/off innertubes. Also check near the big jets, where water runs fast, we noticed money tends to get stuck right under those areas. Hard to dive down there, but my DS grabs ahold of my leg and hangs on as he goes down. The most money is to be found first thing in the morning, but keep checking all day long, it's still there!
Note to parents: If you have kids that love to dive underwater this definately gets them off the big slides. Gives you a break, because you get to float along the river while they look for money!! Also, pays for snacks or if you're lucky lunch at the park that day!
