I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I've never used valet parking before!
I'm wondering how it works! I just can't get over the strange feeling of giving my keys to a stranger! How do they know which car is yours when you return, wanting your car back? Could someone give me the 101 on valet parking? Thank you!! :wave2:

You are given a ticket stub. One part stays with the car, the other part you keep. When you walk outside to get your car you give them your stub and they go get the car. A tip is expected when they bring the car back.

To expand a little further. The keys are not left in the car when they park it. When you give your keys to the valet, the other half of the ticket stub is an envelope where, after they park the car, the keys go. The valet marks where he parked the car and brings the envelope up to the valet desk where it is stored in a lockable cabinet/drawer.

Have they ever mixed up cars? I suppose so. Never heard of it though.
