I'm a 44 SWF who has been to Disney at least onece or twice a year for a looong time. Now that I live down here (as of 4/10/05 formerly Arlington Heights IL) , I expect many more solo trips in my future. My next stay is May 18th and 19th at the WL.

In the May Solos thread, I just discovered that Crcromier and I will be taking the same tour of Epcot on the same day! This will be my first meeting of a fellow DISer!!

I'm raising my kids to also love Disney World, so I should have travel partners for a few more years We do Disney World trivia at the Dinner table. Hope to find someone, someday who also loves Disney, being a Jimmy Buffett fan would be frosting on the cake.

Where in MI - I haven't heard of anyone else mention Disney and Jimmy Buffet in the same sentence before.

My dad played trivia with us at dinner when we were kids too. But it was general trivia prepared me forTrivial Pursuit years before the game hit the market, but when it did my brother, sister and I were prepared!

I'll be on the 5/28 and will just miss you. SWF, 52 (until the cruise - birthday celebration on board). Originally booked solo but about 2 months ago my cousin decided to join me.

Have done WDW alone for more times than I can count. APholder for 8 yrs running but then discovered DCL and have done cruises instead the last few years.

Just found this thread so I guess I will add mine. SWF 34 with two kids from Ohio. Will be in Disney June 20-29 (going with kids and divorced mom 56 and were all Disneyholics) Would love to meet up with anyone going then.

Single again, 2 little girls that love disney and I love taking them there. 37 years here, have been to disney multiple times but love going back again and again - never done a solo trip yet though, i'd feel too guilty not taking the girls.

I travel solo to WDW quite often, but mainly just day trips as I only live an hour away. Even though its great traveling with friends, soemtimes its a bit less stressful solo.

And while I do have a love for Disney, I am one of those much closer to the "dark side" (Universal!) Actually, anything roller coaster or theme park-related does it for me. While driving up from FL to NY in June, I plan to hit Busch gardens Williamsburg, and maybe even Kings Dominion (doubtful on PKD.)

BTW, I'm a 25 year old SWM, and I personally am not a Fantasmic fan.

If you're a coaster fanatic, you have got to make plans to travel to Cedar Point outside Sandusky, OH. Millenium is fantastic! On the down side, they don't have a "fast pass" system. On a very busy Sat one time, the average wait for the more popular rides was 45 min.

Yeah, I need to get back to Cedar Point, last time I was there was back in 1996! It could have been '95, but pretty sure it was '96, it was the year Mantis first opened, so I have a few coasters to catch up on! Top Thrill Dragster too, I have yet to ride an Intamin Rocket Coaster, and hopefully will get the chance soon.

And I absolutely loathe the fastpass systems. Sure, I use them to my advantage when I can, but I think it creates more of a mess then needed. IMO, if parks like CP had a fastpass-type system, the waits would probably be a bit longer than 45 min.!

And about my not liking of Fantasmic, I once posted my "recap" of the show here on the Dis. I posted it on another board too, maybe if I can find it, I'll bring it over here........

On the contrary, Cedar Point DOES have a fast pass system. I never use fast pass at either WDW or CP. I plan my day around wait times. I've been to CP on Saturdays and only waited more than an hour once. I agree, Cedar Point is much better for roller coasters. I'm a roller coaster junkie and I make it there 2-3 times a year. However Disney is more about suspending reality and living in fantasy. Yes, there are some sweet rides/coasters, but I don't go for that. I go for chance to forget everything and act like a kid.

Actually, I agree with that in a lot of ways! Mickey might be an icon, but if you watch his cartoons, you'll find he's not a very good actor, no range of emotion, always a one-note performance compared to Donald or Goofy. As a cartoon character, he is a bit overrated, but as an icon, he's classic!
