Funny I cant find a girl who will spend more than three days at the world with me. They are all a bit high matenance and dont like to spend a full day at the parks like I do. One time I took a girlfriend to MGM and she had the nerve to say "Do we really have to see Fantasmic". She proceeded to pout her way thru the show. HOW CAN YOU NOT SMILE AT FANTASMIC!!!!! I EVEN SHED A TEAR WHEN ITS OVER. Needless to say she did not last that long after the trip. I cant spend my life with someone who doesnt like Fantasmic.....refuse to.....sorry.

I guess im the one with the problem huh....oh well makes me feel good to know there are other freaks like me out there

You sound like the man of my dreams!! :wave2:

i completely agree--i cant see how people can be miserable in disney! thats why i figure why bring guys to disney if they dont like it?! maybe ill b e brave enough to do a solo trip in december..or actually find a guy that likes disney that wants to go lol

Miserable at Disney....that should be against the law! You are in the Happiest place on Earth. I can't believe there are people who don't want to spend 3 days there. I'm just getting started on day 3! :) I think we all need to plan to be down there together. We all understand each other on this board. :flower:

agreed--thats why gottaf ind the disney loving people...im sure i could plan more trips if i had someone to go with me haha

I only live a few hours from Disney but it is still hard to find the time to go. Due to my work schedule, my daughters works schedule and the fact both of us are in school we have started taking day trips. We don't even tell people anymore because they look at us like we have extra sets of Mickey ears. BUT....we have to have our Mickey fix!!! :mickeybar We are now planning a trip out to DL for June and of course the family reunion at Ft Wilderness in July. Now, lets see about Sept....... :earboy2:

How so very true. I just experienced my first "semi-solo" trip a week and a half ago because my friends I was with had no interest in seeing Fantasmic. This was even after repeatedly telling the that it was without a doubt the best nighttime show in the world. Anyway it afforded me to spend some time alone in the parks and I must say it was quite enjoyable. But on the other hand being able to share it with someone who loves it as much as you do would be 100 times better. Maybe next time.

Turning 30 next month and still trying to keep the Disney Magic alive!

Count me in.....42 year old male in Washington state. I've been 7 times since 2000 and it would have been more if I hadn't got derailed by marriage. Bought my AP in 2001 and got married to someone who wouldn't fly. Should have known better. It's a long drive from Washinton to Florida. Oh well, that problem is taken care of. Fly out next on Oct. 16. Can't wait!!!
Hi jpeppers! I see your from "Gods Country"!! Where abouts in Washington State are you? I had a trip to Neah Bay planned for last May....Halibut fishing. It never happened! Beautiful lands out there!

Wow, this thread is hopping!! Been at our favorite place the past few days, and I had about three pages to catch up on! Hiya to the new people! Had some meetups over the weekend with people from another board... I will never go back to doing Disney with people who just don't get it!! From here on out, it's solo or with other fanatics. I can't believe how much fun it is to run around with people who understand that it's a good thing to turn into a six year old and break into song at random intervals.

If any of you want to meet up when you're down here, PM me. I'm local with an AP and a pretty open schedule, so just let me know!!

I definitely suggest trying it solo at least once. Make it small trip the first time, just like 2 or 3 days. You don't have to wait for anyone to get ready. You can go where you want when you want to. No complaints at any time. My past 3 trips have been solo. The only part I never really liked about it was eating alone. I usually just stick to the fast food, stuff my face real quick and move on to my next stop. People will think you are nuts for going alone. I always hear " I can't believe you're going by yourself!" I just look at it as .. you only live once right.. so why should I wait to do something that I thoroughly enjoy doing until I have someone to do it with? . :earboy2:

I cannot wait now to get to Disney Solo!!!! as of 2/3 weeks ago. the guy I was seeing was coming with me. He drinks....that is all he wants to do. I was getting upset thinking of me hanging at the bars in disney! I can go out HERE for that! soI told him to hit the road......at first I was a little depressed about going alone....not now....really looking forward to just getting away from HERE!!!!!! 30 days!!!! YAHOO :cool1:  :cool1:

You know, I've always been perfectly willing to admit that my Disney World obsession is MY problem, and my problem alone. But I'm okay with that.

I'm also okay with people who don't get Disney and don't want to go there. Whatever floats your boat, ya know?

But being okay with those poor, lost souls doesn't mean I have to date one of them! If I can't find a woman with at least a liking for WDW (she doesn't have to be obsessed, she just has to like the place), then too bad! I'll just go it alone for a while.

I don't think you'll have to try very hard either, I remember many fun nights out on the town in Moncton. Lots of great bands and clubs there!

Craig

Yeah Moncton does have a great night life. I love partying there, it is not too far away from home, so you may run into some people you know, but it is a change from home all at the same time. It also gives me a chance to hang out with my cousins that live there.

Well Craig only 2 more weeks and it is our happy birthday month...enjoy the month. I think we should celebrate all month long...we deserve it!!!

I am only a few hours away and would always be up for a meet at WDW!! I agree with all of you that it is unbelievable that there are people out there that do not enjoy Disney, I guess when you grow up with it the love for it grows as you do.....

I think it is very easy to be miserable at Disney. Let me relate. The first time I went to Disney was in July 1995, the third week. I went by myself as several of my friends recommended taking a trip to Disney. I had no preconceived notions of what to expect (pre-Internet and I worked in Greenland so I couldn't just run to the library or bookstore). It was hot, in the upper 90s and lower 100s. When I got there, it was crowded. Worse, I felt that I had enter a strip mall with the endless rolls of stores. They did, of course, provide great relief because of the air conditioning.

The huge crowds :crowded: and hot weather meant terribly long waits to get on rides :sad2:. Where was the fun in this? :confused3 I went to Universal and thoroughly enjoyed it :) but not Disney. Oh, I should mention, I stayed at one of the hotels on Disney property - nice but not impressive. If I were to base Disney only on my first trip, I would recommend not going.

You want to enjoy Disney. GO at Christmas time. I love Xmas and Disney (as well as Universal) does Xmas well. I went in December 1996 to give Disney another chance. I have been going yearly in December ever since. I'm going December 10 to 24 (I spent last year for the first time between Dec 25 and Jan - it was okay but other than the Xmas day parade, you see everything in Xmas style). We could get together as a group. It should be fun!

well thats understandable then...i just meant being miserable because you didnt want to be there type thing..
My family is talking about going right after Thanksgiving, so either late november or beginning of december--im going to go with them, and depending on if i would miss school, i may extend the vacation for a mini solo trip...i just want to see everything all decorated!

You will enjoy it and so will your family. You may wish to look at the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas tickets.
