Did anyone have a chance to go to the Red Sox Rolling Rally Parade yesterday?

I work at The Sports Club/LA at the Boston Commons which was right on the parade route. I was a little depressed yesterday morning because I had to work all day. My work schedule was so busy I thought I would miss the whole thing. Thankfully my brake was around 11:00, so I ran down to Tremont st. to soak in the moment when suddenly the crowd started to scream for the Duck boats. I couldn't have timed it any better, I saw all 17 Duck boats. I recorded it all on video. I'll never forget that day. Now I'll be able tell my one year old son someday that I was there and IT WAS WICKED AWESOME!!!

So I was wondering if anyone else was there and if they could share some experiences and pictures. Thanks.

I'm jealous! Yesterday was my parent's anniversary, and we couldn't figure the logistics of getting my Mom in and out of there (she's disabled), so we watched it on TV.

I'd gone over their house the day before to see what their plans were for Saturday. My mother said "oh good, you're here...get that bag for me." She had a Filene's shopping bag full of World Champions T-shirts. Like 10 of them. "Do you need one? They won't have banners in until tomorrow."

That's my Mom in a nutshell. :D

LOL--that would have been my Nana!!!!!!!!!!

Planecrazy--I am very jealous too, so glad you go to see all of the ducks.

TOTALLY OT--Does anyone know, did Ducktours just cancel all the tours yesterday, or do they have more than 17 vehicles?? Just being nosy.

thanks planecrazy for the pictures!!! I taped on my dvr player...no, I did not get a chance to go in....no one wanted to go with me!
and my daughter works in boston....but she was working!

Jeter would never hold a sign putting someone else down. He has class.

I used to think he did, until he decided he was too classy to congratulate the Red Sox after their league championship win.

Thanks for the shots of the parade, we watched at home.
Loved the link to the ALCS win momsully!!! :D

Kallison-

I don't think that sign was putting Jeter down, it was simply saying that he was playing golf, and that being in the championship parade is better!

Wicked haad, I play wicked haad when I go to the paark.

Don't you love Mr. Shilling?

UNFORTUNEATELY WE DID NOT GET TO THE PARADE YESTERDAY...I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO GO ,BUT MY DAUGHTER HAD A SOCCER TOURNANENT. WE ARE ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY AND REALLY, WANTED TO BE THERE. I LISTENED TO THE RADIO ,BETWEEN GAMES AND CAUGHT THE EVENING NEWS.... THE RED SOX DID AN AWESOME JOB !!!! WAY TO GO RED SOX !!!! P.S. From what the announcers were saying, I only saw the parade via TV, was that a fan handed him that sign....so what...it was in jest and I bet Derek got a laugh from it too....and maybe he was playing golf yesterday:D

and OT here, but have any of you read any of Roger Clemens remarks concerning the win? He is sounding like a soured grape former Red Sox....and John McNamara, who I guess managed Clemens didn't have much nice to say about Roger back then, in comparing him to Curt Shillings performance with the bad bleeding prop. Interesting anyway to read it all.

I was going to go, but DH is not a fan and probably would have an issue if I spent our anniversary with the Sox instead of him ;)

WIth the amount of people in town there was way they could give duck tours. Just like the patriots parade they rent all the duck boats. I didn't go down for the parade I had to work. Thanks for the great pictures and the ones of Curt in Disney. I want to win an award someday just so I can yell" I'm going to Disney World." Actually I do yell it all the time anyway.

Did anyone notice that the Grey haired guy on the right of the photo looks like he's wearing the mickey ears hat, but it's made of Red sox balloons?

Watched it.....I am going through withdrawal today. All that is on tv is either scary Halloween movies or regular news and who wants to watch that, lol?! :p I love the picutres you guys have posted here. I am hoping that there will be some kind of compilation DVD put out soon so I can have a memory all the time of all of the great newscasts that were montaged!

GO RED SOX.....Much thanks goes to my buddy Curt and the rest of the Boston Idiots! Lol, has anyone seen that t-shirt yet? I got each cherub a different one last night at Dick's and of course the Boston Idiot's was one of them. I think it is cool that there is no price gauging going on. I checked different sports web sites and stores and all of the prices are the same for the same items!

i was there I stayed on friday night at Hojos Fenway ( and thank god I did) my mother and I went out at about 6:30 am to see how many people were already lined up and to our surprise there were thousands already.

when is was time for the boats to come out we saw them coming out of Fenway so we ran behind the hotel. We were so close I could almost touch them. When they were done coming out we wen t back out front of the hotel and watched from there. We then waled down to the charles river.

I was so suprised to see the amount of people that lined the river.

I am so glad that I went to the parade it was amazing to be apart of that. everyone was so happy and friendly. I was truely proud to be from Boston.

It's official, The Boston Red Sox are the undisputed, greatest baseball club in the world!!!

momsully!! Thanks for that fanstastic link. I needed several tissues to get through it, though *tear*.

Planecrazy, you're WICKED AWESOME for posting those great piccies. And I can't wait to see your video, save room for Bunny and me on the sofa, we'll be there in *19* days!!!

Totally off topic, but Andrabell, didn't I see you fall down behind the hat in MGM?

Four of us (brother, niece and 8 yr old DD) drove 7 1/2 hours on Friday for the parade. We stayed at a friend's house in Duxbury and got up at 6:30 on Saturday to head into Boston for the parade! My brother and I had always said that they day the Sox won the series, that we would be in Boston for the parade, hanging off a lamp post! Well we made it to Boston, but there was no post hanging. ( DD totally mortified and embarassed by father for even thinking about that.) Anyhow, it was an awesome experience and I'm glad that we went! It was so cool to walk down Boyslton Street afterwardsa and see people high-fiving and hugging each other and hootin' and hollerin'. My brother even got interviewed by a Japanese TV station!!! The whole experience was just worth it! After the parade, we walked up to Fenway and took some pictures and went into the souvenier stores, then got back on the road and headed back towards Buffalo.

Here's some pictures from Boylston near Berkley Avenue.
