Calling all Princesses! (2014 Princess Half Marathon Weekend)- thread #2

How much of a pain in the butt is it to stay offsite? I want to stay on property but I can stay cheaper offsite thanks to my husband's travel points. I will most likely be traveling alone.

Any help from anyone who has done this before?

Honestly, I don't think it is any worse to stay offsite versus onsite assuming you have a car. I have always driven to the expo for marathon weekend at WWoS. And as for race day, I think it's a wash. Your get up, drive over (people will debate early versus late) and hang in the the car.

I am staying at BLT and had planned to reluctantly take the bus to the Expo. But I will have a car. Is driving and parking at WWoS not a big deal? I always seem to have bad luck with buses at MK resorts. From BLT we either walk to MK, monorail to Epcot or drive to HS and AK. In 20+ years of trips Ive never been to WWoS and have no idea what its like over there. So I figured I'd take the bus, but you are making me reconsider just driving...

You can go through active to pre order purse...probably through the rD site.

question about transportation -- sorry if it's been mentioned before, i've skimmed, but there's a lot of responses.

Event Weekend Transportation from the Event Host Resorts -- are there some resorts that will not be offering transportation? i'm thinking about staying at POP and i want to make sure before i book it.

Just curious, does anyone know why they stopped doing expo corral changes? I already submitted a time that I am happy with using but I was wondering why they decided to stop allowing folks to run something for a better placement right up until race day? Were too many folks changing and messing up the corrals? Things felt fine at Wine and Dine where people could still make last minute moves. (I also saw several people simply jump the fence into my corral without a new sticker, which was obnoxious.)

When I click on the link to preorder the purse it is taking me to a listing of marathon weekend information. It lists the purse prices, but no way to order anything. Is this happening to anyone else?

It's definitely the PHM Active page, and I saw the three purses there before, but now I don't see them listed. I think someone sent out the e-mail too early - the rD website PHM event page doesn't list the purses under the commemorative keepsakes section yet, either.

I stayed at BLT for princess 2012 and took the bus to the expo. Worked perfect, super easy!

I asked this question of RD the other day. The corrals were set for a certain number of people based on their submitted times. All of the last minute corral changes were making it too crowded in the corrals closer to the start because most people were trying to move up. It was becoming a safety issue. People were also providing some questionable proof.
