That sounds marvelous! I wish there were a Galloway group close enough for me to go to. You sound like you are doing this the right way :thumbsup2.

Good shoes make such a huge difference. Enjoy!

Thanks for support :goodvibes I am trying to do everything right..as much as possible The group is about 20 miles from here so I have to think about that since between work and animals it's tough to not be here BUT also considering e-coaching from Jeff decisions decisions in the meantime I am thrilled with the shoes and a proper fit (cute too light green pink & black)

:rotfl2: I hear ya! Though not so much in Feb. - this Floridian gets cold under 65*.

Haha, same here! In fact, it's probably 90 degrees outside, and 75 here in the office, and I have a heater on by my feet! My husband always marvels at how little I sweat when I come in from a run, it just takes a while for me to get hot!

:lmao: Me too - right now! ::yes:: WHY must FL offices be chilled to winter temps in the summer?!

OMG, my office is the same. Even when I go out to eat, I keep a sweatshirt in my car in case it's freezing in the place, makes me feel like an old lady! LOL

Did a 4-mile Bridge Race Saturday evening. It was not my best outing. However, I am still pleased with the outcome. Here is what happened, we were doing great, but it was HOT and humid, and then on the second uphill (the ramp went up then a slight downhill and then the main uphill of the bridge started) I totally tanked. The sun was beating in our face, I started shaking, my legs were quivering, and we had to just walk. I was so glad I had brought my iPod, because I ended up starting it up and my playlist put a little spring back in my step. DH and I stopped to take tons of pics on the bridge, and then about halfway across we started running again as I was feeling a lot better. The overcast and drizzling that started when we were mid-span definitely helped as well.

So, despite tanking, and stopping for a ton of pics, we finished in 1 hour and 26 seconds.

Haha!!! I can't imagine what I'll be like as an old lady in Florida, I'll probably keep a parka with me :rotfl2:

I'm going to hold off on sending in a time to rundisney until after my next half in November, I think. There are barely any 10ks in the Philadelphia area, and I don't really understand why. Hopefully one of those pops up between now and November because I would love to do one because I know I would have a better time to submit. I hate the idea of waiting until November to submit a time.

If you're willing to travel a bit from Philly, there are 2 10Ks in Bethlehem this fall. September 28 is the Celtic Classic 5/10K, and October 18-20 is the Runner's World Half and Festival- there's a 10K Saturday and a Half on Sunday. I live in the Lehigh Valley, so we're going to do at least one if not both so we have a time to submit! Congrats on your first half!

You can send them any time you have now and if you get a better one, email them with an updated proof of time. I have done that a few times, but any update must be before the deadline date.

Be cautious of this, I did this last time with rundisney and I got a response saying "you have already sent in an updated time and have a coral placement". This was well before the deadline. I now wait until right before the deadline to submit my best time.....

I did it well before the deadline date, but my time was probably an A corral to an A corral proof, I only updated to ensure the A time in the marathon.

I feel your pain on the no 10K thing. I ran one back in April before I was ready because it was the only one in my area before July 4th  I've actually found more halfs than 10ks this fall! I'm going to try to run a couple to get my time lower for the PHM!

There are halves within a reasonable drive from here every month (some months with multiple!) until December. Of all of the 10ks listed on RunningInTheUSA, there are 2 that are a reasonable drive. I don't get it.:confused3

Oh, really? I thought I had seen someone say that they post either here or in the GSC thread that they had sent a second email to update their time again last year and were told that they could not do that.

EDIT: lol, good timing on the above post. :)

Thank you!

Bethlehem actually isn't a bad drive from me, maybe about an hour. I actually just checked again and it looks like a 10k was added in Phoenixville for October. I will have to sign up for that one!

Great job on doing the race...summers in the south are brutal ! My 4 miles today were on TM due to yes...heat and the heavy mold count outside here in San Antonio. I'm just trying to get through training for the DL half in sept and my C2C .

You didn't mention if you had a running belt but these are great to have for outside runs and you can attach water bottles to them too. Your time gives you 15 min miles so all is good for the PHM...just think....you could easily improve your time in cooler temps :)

Keep on fellow princess ( and glad to see you are a proud navy wife !)

Oh Gmom, calling Gmom, two words: Go Heat. LOL

I don't get it either! It is hard to find a 10K!

OMG....believe someone replaced my spurs with look alike players....game 3 tomorrow.....hmmmm...perhaps a wine bet .:woohoo:

How's the running in FL?

GO SPURS GO !:)

Sure, a wine bet is on! Started training yesterday morning. Ran 2.95 miles at 8:30am and I was dead in the water. Tooooo hot. Dreadmill tomorrow.

GO Heat Go. :)

I'm having the same problem. Only 5Ks or less than 10Ks until the fall, and then I can't seem to find a 10K, just a fall Half Marathon, that I need to look at my training schedule to see if I'll be up for it at that point. I know I'm at least NOT in the last corral since i have a 3:02 for the WDW Half this past January, but I sure would like to improve that.

Thank you! :) Best wishes on the DL Half!!!!

I did have a running belt -- doesn't have water bottle slots, but I always carry a bottle with me. Unfortunately, my parents were out of water (the race was in my hometown) so I had a Powerade, and it was not kind to me. For some reason they only had one water stop, partway up the bridge, so I was glad I had that. I did have Sport Beans with me that we planned on using after about 40-45 minutes but once it started drizzling that was recharging enough, apparently. I actually was singing along with the Rapunzel song on my playlist on the exit ramp. LOL I had taken some time off from running for the 30 Day Shred, and really didn't train properly for this. Lesson learned. :)

Thank you to you and your hubby for your service!!!

I posted this on another thread but this place seems to be the most active & happy chatty :) my kind of place so I ask, following a link to register (which I did not yet) I ran into 2 things I have questions about: shirt sizes and princess colors:

Shirt sizes TECH shirt: Shirt Size *
(Tech Shirt)
Women's X-Small
Women's Small
Women's Medium
Women's Large
Women's X-Large
Women's XX-Large
Men's Small
Men's Medium
Men's Large
Men's X-Large
Men's XX-Large
Who is your favorite Disney Princess? *
Ariel
Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Belle
Cinderella
Jasmine
Merida (Brave)
Rapunzel
Snow White
Tiana

How do the shirt sizes run? I have NO idea since I'm a t-shirt kind of gal how I would know what size ??
also I presume the bib color will be based on your choice of favorite Princess..yes? Is there any way to see these colors, I can guess at some but don't want to assume Thanks Ruthie
