WOW...doubly disappointed to read that cheater-registrants were also asked not to share the info that their registration would be honored.

PrincessGate and a RunD coverup? What's next? For Pete's sake, this is awful. Not for nothing, they know who they are.

I have a couple of questions regarding the spectator viewing areas. On the runDisney site, it says they can view runners from inside the MK park by the castle and at Epcot finish line. Can you also see runners from anywhere inside Epcot or around the Seven Seas Lagoon (such as near the Polynesian or Grand Floridian?)

Also, if anyone has purchased the ChEAR squad packages, I'd be interested in your experience.

I've decided that if I'm going to be crazy and do W&D-Tink-GSC/Princess, my family (at least DH & DS) deserves to be treated to a nice finish line experience at the end of it all! :grouphug:

We were staying at BLT and I know my DH and kids went out and watched by the CR as we went by. ALso they waited and watched as we went by the Poly. We then saw them at the finish line. Hope this helps!

And honestly, they had the right to make whichever decision they decided to about honoring the early registrations. But I do feel disappointed that they elected to send me an e-mail with false information that I then shared all over the place. I kind of feel used. :sad1:

I'm debating about sending runDisney a followup e-mail, but I'm still not sure. I'm not really a drama kind of person so I just really want this to be over.

I did read on another board that someone who spoke to a runDisney rep said that they told them their original intent WAS to cancel the registrations and refund the money but Active (the true villain here in my opinion) wouldn't refund their fee so runDisney didn't want the early registrants to be out the money. So (see I have a lot of pollyanna in me) maybe, just maybe, runDisney sent out the e-mails saying that they were going to cancel the registrations, THEN found out Active wasn't cooperating (no excuse for them as it was Active's mistake that it was even possible to early register) and changed their mind. So MAYBE they didn't actually lie to us. I love Disney and runDisney and this series of events is going to help me feel better giving them a butt-ton of money tomorrow at noon!

Yup, I just sent an email to RunD. Walt would not be happy with his company condoning dishonesty.

I don't think RD had a choice. Once registration occurred, I don't think they can cancel. It's active.com's screw up. I was wondering how prior posts said the money would be refunded. I think this is how RD wished to handle it. I have friends who work for active.com in the swimming division and they are tight-lipped about everything happening with active.com's running division. It's not just RD events they are screwing up. There were major issues with the Marine Corps & Chicago marathons this year.

This race is going to cost me a freaking fortune. It is my first disney race so I want to do pretty much everything they offer. Added up, the glass slipper challenge, pasta challenge, breakfast, race retreat adn the platnum cheer squad is going to cost us $684 and I assume that doesn't include taxes or other fees? This is also assuming that the kids do not come. I really need to decide what we are going to do!

I'm also not even sure I will be able to do the Glass Slipper Challenge but I sure as hell want to try(right now at least). Maybe once I fork out that money it will give me more incentive.

Hi, all! I'm a little late to the party, (haven't been on here in months!) but I'd like to join in! My DD and I will be running this for our first half, and we are SO excited! We're newbie runners-we started last fall as rehab after DD dislocated her kneecap-and now we're hooked! princess:

Don't forget the running costume and saving up to spend lots of $$ at the expo for the I Did It shirt and other awesome stuff! :rotfl:

I'm kinda crafty and very OCD so I will probably make my own costume but that will still cost a nice amount. I def need the shirt and I saw some run Disney NB shoes I need and then there are the pins and this is going to cost more than my September trip :D

Woo Hoo! WELCOME! It's my DD and my first half marathon too! My DIL will be doing this with us too but she's more of a runner...new but more fit. I'm just sitting here shaking my head:confused3 wondering what I've gotten myself into (actually THEY got me into it) with this GSC - YIKES! My main concern is that I won't be able to run the half after doing the 10K...back to back days like that are not something my body is going to embrace

Just an FYI, I found the event registration page. It currently is not active, but the link I have that will be activated tomorrow at noon. Morally, I feel it's not right to post it. I found it by finding the event ID number in the source code of the website in case others want to search for it. It will not show up on a google search as it looks like it blocks searching for keywords, though I can be reading the code wrong.

I'm not following you at all. Are you talking about the event ID from RD or active.com. Wouldn't the early registration link be different than the regular registration?

The early registration and main registration send you to the same event ID. The link is just not posted to rD's website and only to the limited places. So if you find the link, you are able to register early. I have an AP, so I will be still registering properly. I'm trying to find the date it opens in the code, but can't. I feel the next page it takes you to won't be activated till appropriate time and nothing in code to say go, rather they put it up.

I have an AP as well but have no doubt passholder landing is going down tomorrow like it did for the Fantasyland preview. I'm not tech savvy enough to figure it out.
