I love, love, love my running skorts. I hardly ever wear shorts. I wear pants when running outside when it's cold. Did I say I love running in skorts?!
I'm getting ready to order one for each of my daughters and me for the race. I'm trying to get colors to match their favorite princess and I'm working on shirts. Hopefully I will get it put together and post a pix.

Carol? Since you mentioned the pink one with the bleeding problems, do you have a darker color that you haven't had this issue with? Did you like their pocket depth? Oh DisneyDuets I am so excited now after hearing that all 3 will be there. I would like to see the S.G. ones with their pockets. :)

I can't wait for this expo!!!!! :hyper:

I have two black ones (One solid and one with white trim) that have had no problems. The pockets on these skirts are GREAT. Very deep, and nothing seems to move. I ran the half with my camera in one no problem and I generally have at least my car key in one.

Carol have you called Heather yet? I know she would want to know if you are not completely satisfied with her product and would be happy to send you another one if you wanted it. May be that batch of skirts was defective.:confused3 I have 1 Re De skirt(skirt with capris) from SG and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! It is so comfy and keeps me plenty warm. Also a big fan of the Commitment although I like the skirt fit of RS athletic skirt. Hides the chub better! :lmao: :thumbsup2

I wrote them an email. They did volunteer to send me a new skirt, but that's not going to fix the problem! I got TWO skirts and both of them are much "cheaper" then my old one. On my first skirt from them the legs STAYED in place on the shorts. On these.... since there's very little lycra they don't! According to them it's an "improvement" For me it was a disappointment! Maybe other's will like them???

I just order four skirts from Joe's new balance outlet (google that). I got four for $58 no shipping. They are all New Balance skirts-Bonita and Flare style, and different colors.

All it takes is registration at 90% to make me cave...

thndrmatt (Matt) will be running both the 5k and the Princess HM, going down with Cheryl who will be scream teaming and staying at SoG. Crazier yet, we are also doing Urban Dare in Tampa at noon on Saturday. With a 7am 5k start thinkin we'll have plenty of time to make the 90 min drive to Tampa for the noon start of Urban Dare, which will be done by the early evening for a quick drive back to WDW. If you've never heard of it, check out www.urbandare.com it's kind of like a one day amazing race!

Remains to be seen what kind of pace I'll be keeping for these races, I'll be right in the thick of Ironman training so I'm just working my schedule around them, but I'd like to really run them hard and then swing back and chEAR on everyone else. We'll see how it goes!

I love to see all this discussion about skirts!! I tried on the champion c9 (?) today at Target. It comes in bigger sizes (for me) and the length gets correspondingly longer(good for me to hide those old lady thighs) as the size goes up. The only problem (and it is a biggy, I think) is that it is made as a tennis skirt. The only pocket is a ball pocket which is made to hold things upside down. I don't use a power belt, so I always keep my ipod in my pocket. This pocket seemed pretty useless. The legs also did not have a very long short. I would have worried about chafing. I was going to buy it anyway, but as I carried it around the store reality overcame me. There were too many negatives involved. So, I will wait for the skirt that I ordered at 2:00 a.m.!

I agree with what Christine said about the weather here in Cincinnati. although it was warm enough to go outside to walk, there is still so much snow and ice everywhere that you really can't walk or run quickly or safely. So, I went to the rec center and walked on the track. My husband went with me for the first time and walked slowly. I did a few miles with an average time of 13:25 but quit because he was finished and waiting for me. Since I want him to walk too, he is going to bring along something to do to keep him occupied after he finishes his walk. I am so glad that he is starting to walk, he really needs it!

I think tomorrow that I will go get my new shoes and socks so that I can break them in. Oh, I forgot, we're supposed to get more snow tonight!! Maybe I won't be going!

YAY MATT!!!! Can't wait to see you and Cheryl!!!! BTW Matt? How many espressos do you drink a day? :rotfl: Your going to have a crazy day of fun!!! I'm sure you can pull it off :drive:

Joan! I'm off to Google! :rotfl2:

Matt, I am tired just reading that schedule!

I have got to meet this saint you are married too!

Glad you will be joining us!

Did you sign up awhile ago to volunteer? I was contemplating volunteering for the half, but you can no longer sign up online or print out the form. So I am imagining it is closed for volunteers. I sent them an email but have not heard anything.
We signed up near the beginning of January.

As for the skirt talk i know that addasis carries larger size skirts at the outlet store. I have one that im trying to get into. I do have their running shorts and love them.

Amanda

Morning all!! Welcome to all that just signed up!!

I will update the list with your pm's today,as well as work on more of the name tags! It's gonna snow later, so i am not gonna have much else to do! :) Gettin ' reeeeaaalll sick of this snow!!

Man, i just checked that NB site Joan, and they don't have much at all in L/XL. and there aint' no way i am squeezing into anything other than at least a L. LOL

Guess i will stick with my black capris.

Any other good deals on skirts? I just can't swing $50 for one..

Meg, congrats on gettng your husband out walking. Please let me know your secret...I have been trying to get my husband to get some exercise too.

The weather warmed up here yesterday for sure. I took a walk downtown at lunchtime and could not believe how many sidewalks were still covered with ice. That seemed ridiculous to me.

What rec center do you go to for walking? An indoor track is a nice thing. How many laps to a mile? How do you keep count? I think I would have to keep beans in my pocket or something. When all the beans were moved from one pocket to another, I would be done. Better yet, I could put jelly beans in my pocket as lap counters. Each lap I would eat one and when they were all gone, I know I'd be done!

There is an indoor in a church rec center near my house. The pastor put it in to keep his members active. He has invited all who want to use the track to do so. Since I have a TM, I have not taken him up on the offer. I have wondered if I could offer my services as a volunteer to get a "walking club" of seniors motivated to do maybe 1/2 mile 2-3 days per week.

Hi guys! Look at all this skirt talk!!! I have a runningskirt.com one that I like. It seems a bit longer than all the other brands. I have the athletic style. In January I actually wore it over my Capris. I'll post a picture...

ThunderMatt! I am so glad to hear you will be there. I would love to meet you in person to tell you much your cheering keep me going! DH was with and was asking who you were. I knew your name, but that was it. It was very encouraging to see you!!!

Here's proof ladies that I made it 13 miles. I promise you that if I can do it, anyone can. I was much slower on race than I had anticipated, but we did finish!

Also, here is a picture from behind. I had on a Camelback waistpack. It barely moves at all and I really liked it. The bottles tend to bouce a bit more than this pack does. For any that are looking for fluid options, I would recommend this. I also think Racey Tracey has one. I use it on my longer training walk/runs, but with the water stops, I found I didn't use it so much during the race. I'm debating on leaving it at home this time... We'll see...

Stacy Did you look at pae 4 and 6 on the skirt site. they have the cute Bonita style in several colors in XL?

This was COMPLETELY spur of the moment, but I just registered for it today! It's going to be a real quickie visit, but both John and I are signed up for the half. Part of the reason is that we are contemplating doing the DL half, but John didn't finish the marathon this year. (He dropped out just before Mile 20 for medical reasons) If we're going to make the trip to CA, we both really want that extra Coast to Coast medal. Since this race qualifies, we should be good.

We'll be staying at CB......ASM is now sold out......and we plan to attend the WISH meet at POR.

Can't believe we went and did this.

Christine:

I walk at the College Hill recreation center. It is really nice. The cost for a year long membership is $8. During the day, only a few people are on the track. My husband went with me today and walked his pace for awhile. Then, he sat and read until I was finished. I did five miles averaging 13.4 minutes per mile. I would have liked to have gone farther but I'll wait until he isn't with me. The lap is one-tenth of a mile. I tried different things to keep track of my laps and figured out that moving a ring from finger to finger was the easiest way for me to count. They have digital clocks on the walls at either end, with seconds to the hundredths, so it easy to keep track of your time.

It is snowing outside again and they are salting the streets. Apparently another Alberta clipper is coming! Thank goodness for the rec center!
I had my first drink of Gatorade. (I'm a Coke Zero addict!) My daughter told me to get used to it for race day. They have the yellow kind along the course. It wasn't too bad.

Hope everybody is having a good training day.

Meg

Jeanneg My daughters will be flying out of RDU 3/5 and meeting me down there. We will be at Coronado. I want that Coast to Coast metal too!

My mom and I are planning coast to coast as well! We're here in California, so that will be the quick trip for us. When it gets closer, maybe we should think about a meet?
