I arrive at 11 on Friday morning. I will probably take ME and get the bus to the expo from CBR as soon as I get in. Are there busses that go to the theme parks from WWoS? I'll probably have to return to the expo on Saturday since my friend doesn't get in until late Friday night. Anyone think I should skip the expo on Friday and just head over first thing Saturday before we go to AK?

Christine you better come on Friday for our Expo Shopping meet!! Just think, if you wait until Sat all the good stuff might be gone!

Hey Everyone:

I don't know what to expect for this Princess 1/2 Marathon??? I'm kind of starting to freak out because my motivation has been at a low. My boyfriend and I are doing it together (I didn't even have to convince him...he's so awesome! haha). Is it just craziness there? How many people run this race?

Do a lot of people have their own t-shirts made? We were going to make ones that had our team name on it. Are there people cheering you on along the sidelines? What kind of apparel do people recommend wearing? Sleeveless shirts? What about sunglasses? I kind of think they might just get in the way. What type of celebration is at the end?

I feel kind of lost right now! I'm just "first 1/2 marathon" jitters. Haha! I've been to Disney lots but not to run this extreme amount!

Hello again Everyone:

I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Ashley and I'm from Iowa. My family and I are going down to Disney in March. My boyfriend and I are running the Princess 1/2 Marathon and my mom, dad, sister and her boyfriend and running the 5K.

We've been Disney lovers and go'ers since I was really little. I was just there in August to celebrate my parent's 25th! The kids paid for the last trip...YIKES!

Now we are going back to run and I'm a little nervous. I've never run that far before!

Anyway...this board is so motivating and welcoming...so I thought I'd introduce myself! I just went and ran 3 miles, averaging 10 minute miles so I feel great!

Don't worry, there are lots of us who have first time jitters.. i ran a 5k last year at WDW, but never did anything for this long of a distance..
As for how many people will be there, i am not sure what the "cap" is, but i know the race is 75% full,i am assuming there will be a couple thousand easy.. Since it is their first princess 1/2, who knows.. LOL
As for the end celebration - again, who knows. At the Minnie last may, there were characters at the end to take pics with (although, there was NO WAY i was getting in line dripping with sweat to take my pic!!) I am guessing the princesses will be there at the end..

As for clothes, you will get a million answers. I have a WISH board shirt that i like to wear, (which is the signature WISH lime green) and i will probably be wearing my pink running skirt.
I am sure you will have LOTS wearing matching team shirts, and even some in princess costumes..
I cut the sleeves off my shirt, and will end up tying them up with princess ribbon i found.
I am not going to wear sunglasses i don't think.. i think they would end up driving me crazy as they would slide down my sweaty nose.. LOL
My sis did wear hers for the 15k last year, but she had to carry them for a bit in the beginning b/c it is still dark out when we start..

It is so nice that you and your family will be attending the Princess Marathon.
Like you, I will be there for the first time and am somewhat nervous. I will be there with my 2 daughters and my 2 granddaughters (in strollers for the 5K).
I feel like I am in the same place as your Mom (trying to be computer savvy)
You will find this a very welcoming and supportive community.

Thanks for the welcome! I have finally gotten myself motivated for this thing and I'm getting really excited! I hope everyone's training is going really well. It's freeeeeezing here in Iowa , so I can't run outside but luckily the gym is just down the block from me. I can't wait for the warmer weather in Florida.

I wear my sunglasses when I do races. Since it is normally dark when the race starts I just stick them on top of my head. I prefer the ones without the nose things since they get caught in my hair. The only problem I had was during the Minnie 15k when I finally put them on they were all fogged up from my hair being sweaty - luckly I was able to wipe them off and they were just fine.

ok gang, need some help! I noticed on my run this morning that my hip hurt. It is a pain deep in the joint! When I stop, it stops. Doesn't really bother me when I am walking though. Any thoughts? My DH thinks I have thrown off my stride or I need new shoes. My current shoes only have about 100 miles on them!

Both. They are the same model I have been running in for the last year. I don't know. I am probably just being whiney. It has been cold and rainy here so I am having an Eeyore kinda moment. Gotta snap out of it!
