Hey neighbors! The kids and I are gonna spend a few days pool hopping this summer. Which do you reccommend and why?

We've done this a few times and in is a PITA. We spent as much time traveling to a different resort as we spent at the actual pool. It's not always that easy to get from point A to point B in WDW.

Anyhow...the Poly has a nice pool...DS likes the pool and slide at POFQ....I would suggest avoiding the WL since the pool there is always already far too crowded, unless you plan to swim at 9:00 in the morning....DS has also shown interest in trying the pool at the GF, although we haven't yet....

Have a great trip! :earsboy: What are the dates for your trip? We'll be at the BCV August 7 to 14. :cheer2:

Poly for the ambiance and slide and Coronado Springs for the slide!

I don't find the drive/bus/monorail taking to other resorts to use pools a problem. We plan the time and want to go, so it doesn't bother us at all.

I'll echo the recommendation for Coronado. Dinner at the Pepper Market and a dip a the Dig Site (biggest hot tub on property) was a very nice evening!

We love Coronado and the pool we also really liked the pool at SSR OKW is a good pool now that they have a decent slide before the slide the pool was a ghost town. BWV pool is great and we also really liked the pool at POFQ we used it when we stayed in 98 over at Dixie Landings. Enjoy it is really not a problem getting from one to the other especially if you head to POFQ and Coronado just hit DTD and hop the next resort but to whever you want to go.

Poly would get our vote. We have pool hopped both with and w/o little kids and if you are relying totally on Disney transport to get to the pool, it is more cumbersome with little kids. But we preplan pool hopping also so to us it is all part of the adventure. If we do not have a car, we take a bus to MK and either a boat or the monorail to the Poly. We like just riding the boats and monorail. We hang out at the Poly for the afternoon grab take out dinner from Captain Cooks and hang out on the beach to watch the electrical water parade and MK fireworks. Very relaxing way to spend an afternoon/evening.

This Aug DS13 & I are planning on pool hopping to
Contemp after brkfst at Chef Mickey's
Grand Floridian after dinner at GF Cafe
Poly after dinner at Kona
and Boardwalk after brkfst at Spoodles

We find pool hopping to be a breeze when we have a car. We usually combine visiting a pool with a Food Court meal. Our favorite is probably Coronado because we really enjoy the pool area, and they have the most interesting food court to us. When the kids were smaller they loved the dragon slide at PO, and that food court is also good.

We have also pool hopped to monorail hotels when we did early opening to MK. After hitting the park, we would monorail over to Poly or Contemporary (preferably Poly), swim for a bit and grab something to eat like Capt Cook's chicken fingers - Mmm. We would store our swimming stuff in a locker at MK until we left the park. Sometimes my boys would just wear swimtrunks to the parks anyway (they do look like shorts) so they could go through the kids fountain areas without me yelling at them ;)

The pool at WL is crowded, but the whole place is amazing- watch the stream start in the lobby, follow it outside, & you'll be dying to jump in by the time you get to the pool!
The Whispering Canyon Cafe is supposed to be good for families, but we didn't try that.

Thanks gang! Keep the feedback comming. I actually had the Poly and Coranodo on the list, glad to know we're on the right track.

I noticed people reccommending POFQ. Is it better than POR?

The last time we were at POR, the themed pool was in need of refurbishment. It has since gotten just that, but we haven't been back there. When we stayed at POR, we were in the mansions and always used the quiet pool. When I say quiet, it was the quietest pool I've ever seen at WDW! There was never anyone there, no matter what time of day it was. I'm talking July 4th and Easter weeks too!

The pool at FQ is big and has a fun theme (for kids).
