We will be in MK for 2 days during our vacation. For a break in the afternoon, we are probably going to visit the Poly and GF to see the resorts. We will have already eaten in the parks, so eating is out.

So what else do you guys recommend seeing / doing at the Poly and GP? We can't go in the pools, since we aren't guests, so what else shouldn't we miss?

Any guidance is VERY MUCH appreciated!

Hmmmm... at the GF they have shops inside you could check out, or you could walk on the beach. Also they have a High Tea there in the afternoons. And then of course there's the GF Spa which is fantastic! :) At night you can watch the EWP and Wishes from Gasparilla Grill, or listen to the live music in the lobby.

At the Poly you could walk around the grounds and on the beach, they have a couple of shops but not as many as the GF. Then at night you can see the EWP and Wishes from the beach.

Have fun! :)

My favorite thing while staying at the poly is renting the boats! We have rented all the different boats. (except sailing). We started with mouse boats, then moved up to the canopy then the big pontoon's. They are alot of fun. You can go on bay lake over the "water bridge". And also cruise on seven seas lagoon, you can get great pictures, take your time, take the whole family on the pontoon, even drinks and snacks. On the smaller boats you must wear your life jackets on the pontoon it is optional, but must be taken aboard. You need a drivers licence to rent or use you KTTW card.

Then come back sit in the bar and have a cocktail! Overlooking the pool.

I was going to say the same thing about the marina - I plan on renting some of the mouse boats when I arrive on May 7th, to zip around the lake!!

Wander over the Wedding Pavilion and take a peek. If there's no wedding going on, you can go in and look around. And if there IS a wedding, look for large mice! We've been AMAZED when we have stayed at the GF, how many weddings are going on both at the pavilion, and in the resort itself. Brides -- many of them Asian -- and wedding partie are always passing through the lobby, and very often Minnie and Mickey are invited guests (properly attired, of course!). :teeth:

u can ask someone at hte front desk for a tour of a room. tell them u are interested in staying there on your next visit and they gladly show you around. we always stay at the GF and my grandma is a lobby fanantic. oneday she asked if she could see a room in the main building and they gave her a quick lil peek.

Last October I took DH on the monorail tour and we stopped at Poly and had lunch, rented the water mice and had a drink at the pool bar there. I've also enjoyed lounging in the hammocks they have when I've stayed there.

When we got to GF, we wandered the shops and grabbed a drink at the pool bar. Seeing a pattern?

:)

Thanks for all the advice! Family thought they'd be bored and have nothing to do in the resorts.

Are you nuts? I told them - it's DISNEY!
