For those who did not see my Spreadsheet last September, we are leaving tomorrow and I have my latest one all printed and ready to go.

Here is my CRAZY, Overplanner ITINERARY

Everyone at work thinks I'm nuts....even my wife thought I was crazy last September....but after having a perfectly executed vacation, hitting all the rides we wanted with little lines (Thanks TGM!), and having fantastic dinners on the dining plan each night, she is a believer!

So, how many other OverPlanaholics are there??

Hi, I'm Barbara and I'm an Overplanaholic.

Please tell me that you also plan the order of the attractions that you will go on?

Hi Barbara....

I have to admit that I do plan the order of the attractions. If you click on each day at the bottom of the spreadsheet, you will see that I have slots for each ride. I don't specifically mention which ones in the the one you see since I planned it based off of Tour Guide Mike's info and they have a NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) that I won't post specific info I get from his site.

Hi, I'm Jennifer and I too am an OverPlanaholic...

I have to say...my excel spreadsheets aren't quite as extensive - I'm missing the budget and travel sections and only have four separate tabbed worksheets... :teeth:

My DH was the true Mickeyhead in our family when we met so he loves the fact that I have planning overload issues. It used to be him saying "so...what do you want to do when we're on vacation?" and now it's me IM-ing him at work saying, "so...do you want to try Spoodles on Thursday or should we stick with Cape May?" and "are you sure we want to stay at VWL? Maybe we should waitlist BCV?" and "I think I want to leave on Wednesday night instead of Thursday morning...can you get off work early to do that?" (I should add that this last strategy has actually added many days to several of our trips - the key is subtlety :p )

And this all happens MONTHS before the trip!! (And I should also add that he is the one who sends me DIS thread links at work via IM so he's a diehard too...!)

Unixadm - have a FANTASTIC vacation and travel safe tomorrow! I bow to your impressive planning...I only aspire to such greatness! :goodvibes

Too cute... LoL... This is as good a place as any to introduce myself...

Hello, I'm Foofness... I too am an Overplanaholic...

I'm glad to see I'm not alone... The first Disney trip I got to over-plan was our honeymoon in Sept. 1998... We stayed at POFQ for six night...

I'm currently over-planning our next trip... We are going to stay at CBR for six nights in Sept. this year... I'm sooooo excited!... I've been reading these forums for months now... I've gotten so much wonderful information from all of you that I think I've got everything pretty much figured out!..

Thank goodness for Excel!... :teeth:

GREAT JOB! :thumbsup2

I have just finished reading the UG. I have been taking notes since January on what I've learned from DIS on my Excel worksheets, highlighted and made notes from what I've read in the UG. Now my next step is to combine everything I've learned. :surfweb: You spreadsheet is awesome and colorful and I may use something like this for us, if you don't mind. Thanks so much for sharing. Your AWESOME! :cheer2: BTW, I am definately an OVERPLANAHOLIC!!! Can I join your group? :hippie:

I thought I was an overplanner but I bow to the master. Have a great trip. We are staying in BWV in August. Can't wait to hear how your planning turns out.

Hi my name is Karen and I too am an overplanner. :rotfl2:

I have a Word document that I have printed out. I also printed out all of the menus from the restaurants that we will be eating at so everyone can be prepared when we get to the restaurant. The list goes on and on. :lmao:

My husband thinks I am one fry short of a happy meal! :rotfl:
In the long run he knows that if we have a plan it will make our lives easier especially have 2 toddlers.

I'm so glad I am not the only overplanner/anal itinerary maker! My friends make fun of me all the time for it - but seriously, where would they be without me? Unorganized and not utilising the maximum amount of park time, that's where.

Guilty and loving it! :wave2:

My newest pet project is putting all my info on my PDA, so I have all the information with me all the time, including park maps, ADR info etc... :goodvibes

I'm a TGM'er planaholic, too. And I love it! Planning is the best way that you can squeeze the most attractions into your trip.

That said, I also plan for some downtime or a day "off" from the parks so we can relax to soak up the magic and do some spur-of-the-moment things.

I don't use a spread sheet. I use index cards.

Dh was skeptical about my plans, but once we followed them he said that I did a great job putting together our trip. He was impressed with how well those little cards led us through our day. :woohoo:

I too bow down in the company of planning greatness!

I should show this to my husband and then I'd prove that I'm not alone!

:wave2: Hello - I'm an overplanner, AND computer illiterate!!

For me there is no hope!!

I have seen some awesome spreadsheets - in 2004 someone posted it for all - and I erroneously deleted his plans and added mine (I believed this was the directions I somehow read!) Well, low and behold when I went to print - original itanary popped out!! uggg!!

So thanks for sharing... and I'll just step up and say, I'm jealous!! :teeth:

(and I also printed out menus, we went with my mom last year, so I made a huge daily itinary, and printed pictures of food, POR, etc etc... and put everything in a 3 ring binder, adding some scrapbook stickers, papers etc, it was wonderful!!)

(PPS for those using UG - do check out www.touringplans.com for the "Best Day calendar (free) if you havent already!!)

We generally go with 8 to 10 people & the overplanning absolutely pays off. Everyone gets a copy fo the spread sheet. They all thought I was nuts at the beginning but they saw how well it payed off.

I'm a TGM'er and planner as well - on index cards though! I have 4 soft-sided photo albums with info on each park printed out from TGM as well as each day's schedule. I have a master booklet with the overall schedules, ADR's, food allergy/dining info stuff, etc. I ripped the color maps out of one of my old Passporters and stuck in the appropriate park booklets too - I love the Passporter maps!

We plan to be there the week after you! Have a great trip!

WOW! Those spreadsheets are beautiful!! I just use Microsoft Word (boring!!) to create mine. What did you use? I am so computer illiterate, maybe this will give me something to do to pass away the time (5 more weeks!!). Would you mind if I tried to create something similar to yours? Could you point me in the right direction? :goodvibes

Your trip is ALMOST HERE!! Have FUN!!! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

All's I can say is WOW! I love the spreadsheets ! Great job. :cheer2: I am a Theme Park Comando and an obsessive over planner. I have to admit that I have never used spreadsheets and for the life of me I can not figure out why? :confused3 Have always gone with 8 millon pages of hand written notes. Well, let me tell you those days are OVER. Nothing but orginized spreadsheets now. If anyone else has ones they would like to share. It would be greatly appreciated

Seeing as this was just sent to me as a reply to my post "Am I insane":

<<<lol, you plan to much, relax and get a pop>>>,

Thanks for the spreadsheet! It's AWESOME! Have a wonderful time! All of your hard work and time will certainly pay off!
