It occurs to us that we bought in to the DVC - now called Old Key West in December of 1991.( the first month DVC was offered for sale)...at about $51 a point or so (seemed expensive back then)...Since its now December, 2004..that is 13 years that we have been DVC members..that makes us , and all who bought in that first month of 1991..owners for thirteen years...so we are the "first new DVC teens"//.or at least the first to become DVC teenagers....that is pretty cool since we have enjoyed Old Key West since the very beginning and saw all of the changes and adjustments made since the beginning...At least to us..this was the best vacation investment we could have ever made..and it only seems to get better as time moves on...and remember, when we bought in ..there really was no internet and especially NO DIS to talk to members and find out things like you can do here now....so, lets hear from some of the other NEW DVD teens !!!!! the DVC Pioneers....

WOW have the past 13 years flown buy. We also purchased in December of 1991, we were staying at Port Orleans. We had heard about DVC via various Disney publications and were interested. Before our trip we tried to call and get information, every call we made was met with a "sorry we can not talk to you." It was not explained to us until we got to WDW that DVC was not yet registered in out state, our guide at the time said there were other time share companies out there trying to catch Disney violating the state registration rules, thus no info via the telephone.

When we visited the DVC preview center, AKA the Commodore House, I was the high pressure one, as all I wanted to know was the bottom line cost. Our Guide, kept telling me to relax, watch the film, visit the units, ect. then got the numbers, and bought right then and there. No pressure on their part at all. Got our picture taken with the balloon background, and ate ice cream dots.

We remember the free passes, the coin to commemorate our first stay, the three mountain logo.

Remember telling ourselves that the 230 points was more than enough, little did we know that we would be adding on several times over the years.

Seeing other folks wearing the old multi color members coat in the parks and knowing they were also some of the first to jump in.

DVC is the best vacation investment we have ever made, and we still have a whole bunch of years ahead.
