Calling all moderators ~ need help with updates

Hi ~ tried posting on the tech thread but not getting any answers.

Suddenly a few weeks ago the updates section stopped appearing when I log in. It happened once before quite a while ago and someone suggested I use Chrome which I changed to and no problem, but now it's missing again.

Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks!

By "updates" I'm assuming you're talking about unread Replies to Subscribed Threads in in User CP under "New Subscribed Threads"? This view just shows recent responses to subscribed threads since you last visited the User CP-- it will not show older unread Replies (e.g. older than a day or so) and resets the list once you visit it (e.g. if you visit User CP, even if you don't click on anything, then navigate away and navigate back the list is now empty). To view all unread Replies to Subscribed Threads click View All Subscribed Threads at the bottom of "New Subscribed Threads" in User CP or click "Quick Links" > Subscribed Threads.

Sorry but this is not the correct board to put this on. I am the only moderator on the Welcome Board and I am not tech savvy enough to help you. I am not even sure what you are referring to. I am moving this to the Tech Support board where it belongs. Hopefully someone there can help you.

I had it on the tech board and got no help. What I am referring to are the updates that would post at the top of the page showing things like special cruise rates, or the disney benches videos, or updates to the candlelight procession list, etc.

Is it possible there just aren't any right now? Our webmasters have been very busy dealing with the redirecting ads issue so maybe they haven't been posting updates or removed that feature for now?

So, you are talking about the "News/Updates" links at the top of every page? I verified it works in IE 11, FF 35 if you hover over "News/Updates". In Chrome 39 you have to click on "News/Updates" to see the list of Updates. Hope that helps solve the mystery.

Thank you rfc0001 ~ I had not been aware of any change, the updates used to just be there when I logged in. I found the news/updates area you were speaking of and when I hover over, they appear!!!!!! Appreciate the help.

I have been having the same problem. They were on the page every time I came to the forums, then suddenly they were gone.

I had my Style Chooser set to DVC. There was no News/Updates link on that style. I changed it to the default style and now also have the News/Updates that I can at least hover over to see.

I don't mind having to hover over the icon to see the updates; just glad I can see them again.

Looks like the News/Updates remained the same.
