Calling all Fireman wives!!!

Wow! Great to see something all about firefighters! My DH is a 15 year career firefighter and always said he couldn't believe they pay him to do this! We have brought him back almost every Mickey's Fire Department souveneir we can find. He is coming on this trip (woohoo!) and we will be visiting the DD fire station and also touring E-1 (in Ocala). Anyone ever gone there before? Just curious about how long the tour is. Does anyone else's husband trade patches everywhere you travel? ROCK

Welcome to our thread - we are a close-knit group here. We may not post everyday, but when we do, it's like we just talked yesterday.

My DH is a volunteer fireman, and he hasn't traded patches with anyone before. We have been to E-1 before, but we didn't take a tour. We just went to there gift shop and my DH had to talk to someone there because we were getting a new fire truck from there for our town.

Rick Springfield was AWSOME . I still have a huge crush on him , he was so close to me I should have just reached up and grabed him . But I was contained this time : )

Mad4Mickey - I'm glad you had a great time at DL and I'm glad you had fun seening Rick Springfield. I know what you mean about being so close you could have grabed him because I felt that way when I say Joseph and the Amazing Technocolor Dreamcoat with Donny Osmond. There was one time I could have grabbed him too and I was screaming like a little girl who just saw him for the first time in the 70's . My DH could have died

I also love the idea of trading patches - lets do it!! We'll have to work out the details.

Hi all just found this thread - a firewife here he's been doing this for 15 years he is fulltime paid paramedic/firefighter and works parttime for a dept he's been at for all of those 15 years - he also trains for marathons- We are highschool sweethearts been together amost 21 years I dont mind him being gone two nights in a row (I think that's how we stay married) but we do keep our scanner on too, people who come over wonder about "that noise" - Our dept cannot trade patches but we can swap T-shirts if anyone is interested I have I think 5 large size new shirts to trade if anyone would like to swap- I traded once for a Disney fireworks one and he wears it all the time -

Hi Tiffa and welcome to our thread. I had to smile when I read your post because I am married to my highschool sweetheart also. We started dating when we were 16 and before that we grew up a block away from each other. I am now almost 34 and we have been married for 10 years and together for 17 years.

My DH is a volunteer fireman and EMT. He has been on the Dept for almost 8 years and it seems like yesterday when he started being a fireman. He may be able to do a t-shirt, I'll have to ask him when he comes home.

Me and my 2 girls just came home when he started running down the driveway in his bathing suit, soaking wet, to go on a call. It's 98 degrees out today, I sure hope its a medical call and not a fire call. It's just to hot for them to put their gear on.

Hello girls - how is everyone doing? Things are good here, the weather is finally a lot cooler and it feels so nice. We had several days of 95+ degree days, and even though it is good weather for the pool, it really starts to take a toll on you.

Idroveallnight - It's good to see you home from vacation safe . I'm also glad that you had a good time. I have some XXL t-shirts that I can trade also - that will be a good thing to trade.

Mad4Mickey - how are you doing my friend? I saw that you found me on the "Welcome to the chocolate vault" thread - you always make me laugh!! When it comes to patches, I unfortunately don't have any to trade - but I do have XXL t-shirts that I can trade for a patch, or if you have a t-shirt you would like to trade we can do that too. It's up to you

What are you all doing for the 4th of July? We are having our family over for a pool party and then DH and friend are lighting off some big fireworks - it should be fun.

Tonight we are going to watch The Pacifier - we just bought it at our grocery store. They had a deal that if you bought the movie, you got a free gallon of milk. Stephanie and I went to the theather to see the movie, but Kevin has not seen it and I think he will enjoy it.
