Thanks for the welcome everyone. Yes ive been posting on the podcast boards more lately. My first day over there was actually the day pete told us about bob.

Im very proud of Marc, and want to support him, but its hard sometimes being a full time student and working 20+ hours a week myself. Im leaving from august to december to do the wdw college program and I am worried that I wont be here to support him while hes starting out. He has 6 months of paid work (but not really paid) and then hopefully he will be able to start full time with the same station. I know that it must be stressful,and scary at times but in the 5 years that weve been together Ive never seen him happier or more excited about anything.

**When it comes to how to deal with everything, it just sorta happens. I was nervous at first, and at times I would get scared, but it just sorta starts to go away. I now have so much confidence in Kevin's (DH) knowledge, and experience, that I know he would never, knowingly, put himself in harms way, unless he really really had to. I also know that if something tragic happened to him, and he died at the hands of a fire, he would die doing what he loves, and there's something comforting in that. Don't get me wrong, if he goes to a "working house fire" or any other type of dangerous fire, I still get a little nervous and scared, but not like I did 10 years ago.
**Good luck with the college program Don't forget about us when you are over there - I would love to hear how everything is going with you and your Dfiance as he is starting out.

Karen - You are so lucky that once Jim is home, he stays home I never know with Kevin - we've had so many of everything interrupted by him having to run out. The only time now that I get frustrated is when he wants to go during something important. I told him for Stephanie's First Communion, that under no circumstances, was he to go, and to even leave his pager at home. He didn't leave his pager at home, but he didn't go - I was glad!!!!

kimba - Kevin has had to run out during our kids birthdays too My girls don't know life w/o him being on the dept, so it doesn't even faze them

Mkaapril - that is terrible about your DH's knee! Jim has made one trip to the hospital (before we were married).

sandy - I picked up Emi's jeans last night. They really did an awesome job! You can't tell they were hemmed! She had some giftcards from her birthday, so we shopped for a little while. Then she went to stay with a friend. Lena (the friend) ordered Emi a book for her bday and it just got released and shipped, so they wanted to get together and start reading! How can a mom say no to reading?

MK (MIKE) GA(GINA) APRIL (OUR WEDDING MONTH)

Well, I had take my kids when they were younger(much younger) to get a pound puppy. The cutest little Beagle runt was what the 3 wanted. All the way home they were fighting over what to call it, peanut, snoopy, killer the list went on and on...when we got out of the car they were still fighting...the dog got out ran to a tree and went pee on it...and so it was called PEE-TREE.

DH was running with the hose when they were doing drills and someone did something they shouldn't have with the hose...it jerked him back, and his knee blew out...his leg went up in front of him (his face)...he had surgery a few times...he still has problems but what do you do....he is ok..

Oh and for the record..I know all about that PAGER THING..GRRRRRRRRR

nice story...at least its a creative way to name a dog. We have 2 cats right now that are brothers. One is a black/white tuxedo cat and I wanted to name him figaro, but He has a black spot on his rear heel, so he was achilles. the other was orange so to go along he just got stuck with apollo. haha

My kids.... cute cat names...everyone thought I was nuts for letting them name it that..but there was a cartoon with an animal on it named Peatree so it fit and sounded like my kids.

Hello Ladies!!

Hey - I learned a couple of new things yesterday....

1. NEVER EVER EVER let my DS13 have Red Bull!!!!
That child was crazy hyped!! (that's him)

2. Homeschooling my kids doesn't shield them from teen drama. OK, I knew they really wouldn't be shielded from it but I didn't think I'd be dealing with it so soon

3. When your DS' best friend has a crush on your DD...things get icky! Especially when that DD doesn't like said best friend. Ok the boy is 12 my DD is 16...I mean really!! But he called and wanted to ask her out. So DS stepped in and had to diffuse the situation! He wasn't happy about it..he spent 3 hours working up the courage to tell him that Kayla wasn't really his type and the phone call took all of three minutes!!
It all worked out well. After the friend called the first time and said he was going to call back to ask her out, DS called me in the bathroom and told me. We told DD and figured out what to do. The friend doesn't know that we all know about the crush so it shouldn't be too weird

4. I need to take up yoga or meditation or something...because apparently the stress has just begun


Sandy - We're allergic to cats too and some dogs. That's why the inside dog has short HAIR - not fur.

My user name is from Kimba The Little White Lion. It was a cartoon that was on when I was really little. My brother started calling me Kimba (my name is Kim plus I had really white blond hair and I guess I was a little tiny bit of a lion ) C-is my last initial and 3 is the number of kids I have. Not real clever but it works!

I hope all of you that are Mother's, Step-Mothers, Aunts, Grandmas, Godmothers and everything else has a fantastic day today!!!!!


Today will be a nice day here, even though the weather is crappy My mom is going to church with us this morning, and then she is getting KFC, my dad, and then coming over to eat. My brother and SIL both have to work, but my brother will come a little later in the day.

We actually started Mother's Day on Friday night. Kevin is never home this weekend (he's at the Indy Motor Speedway), so I got my gifts on Friday night. I got a new Big Fig and (2) new Disney Precious Moments - I loved my gifts!!!! Then last night the girls and I took my mom out for dinner and a movie for Mother's Day - it was a nice time!!!!


The blood test yesterday went well. The nurses said that I have low blood sugar, but the doctor will analyze everything and let me know what is going on. All I know, is that awful drink gave me a headache yesterday, so I still know that I can't have sugars w/o feeling like garbage. So, I'm still going to have to really monitor my food



Well, I better go get ready for church, and eat some breakfast.

Happy Mother's Day to all the various "mommy types"!!

Today is mine and DH's 17th wedding anniversary too!!!

My DH and kids bought me a really cool camera!! It's got a "cuisine" setting!! How perfect is that for trip reports!!

My DD Jocelyn bought me a cute "I love my kids" Italian charm, and she made DH and I the sweetest card...I actually cried


Sandy - what big fig did you get??? I love the Disney Precious moments figurines. They are all so cute!!!
Low Blood Sugar, huh? You'll need to get your sugars from carbs I guess. Carbs are my enemy but sound like they may be your friend!! Be careful, low blood sugar can drop you fast.

Good Morning everyone! I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! I was on call this weekend so I worked for a few hours yesterday. Then we went to Jim's mom's house for a visit. After that my sisters and parents came over for a dinner cookout. Sarah cam home Saturday. She will be home for a week!
