I hate Monday morning!!!

sandy - I am glad Katie is feeling better. Sorry your party was a bust!

kathy - welcome back! I hope the CPAP machine improves your sleep! Sorry they couldn't figure out what is causing the numbness!

abby - does Dante use any maintenance medicine for his asthma? I am so excited for ya'll - 10 days!!! I started making lists of park hours with parade, show and EMH schedules so we can set up the "daily plan".

It is very cold here this morning! We are doing our own version of the Biggest Loser at work and we weigh in today. Wish me luck!

Slo- Dante has an inhaler and battery operated nebulizer. The doctor said we can substitute one treatment a day with the inhaler rest have to be nebulizer. So probably just take the inhaler in and go back to our resort a couple times a day for treatments. That stinks that the xmas party was a bust. At least you got a little time alone with dh.

Idroveallnight- Dante takes advair daily. He is also on Bromofed pd and periactin to control allergies and migraines. He takes pulmicourt when he starts coughing to help get him under control. He also takes prevacid for reflux. I sometimes feel like I am over medicating but then I have tried to take him off one or another at times and he has a flare up so I have learned to do as the doctors say. It gets so hard sometimes to make him take them all though. Sorry to go on, just sometimes I feel so overwhelmed.

I bet your getting so excited, its so nice to make your lists of park hours and things! I hope you manage to stay warm! Good Luck on your weigh in! Good thing its before Disney...lol

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

firemanslady - I am not trying to be nosy about Dante's meds - it's just I work in a peditrician's office so... They make small hand held nebs - designed for athletes, etc... They are battery operated, so you could put it in a backpack and not have to leave! I also bet you could take your regular neb, put it in a locker and then just take a break in the park while he does a treatment. I am sure you could use the power at the Baby Stations or First Aid. Just a thought so you wouldn't have to leave too many times! I know that it is so hard for him to be on so many meds! Hang in there! Some kids outgrow their asthma! I feel for him with the reflux! I battle that, too!!

I had to post again tonight because I wanted to share my 500th post with my fellow firefighter's wives!!! It just seemed like a big deal!! I think I should get to stay in the castle for that!!!!!party:

Today is a sad day for my mom and I. We are closing on my Grandma's house :worried: Even though it's very good that we were able to sell the house, it's still very sad that we are never going to go inside of it again :( I was indifferent if I should walk through it one more time, and I decided not to. I would much rather remember it how it was, instead of an empty shell (even though I've been in it several times, while it was empty, but it was empty and still hers. Now it's empty and almost someones elses). I still can't believe it's almost been a year since she passed away. I can still hear her voice like I talked to her yesterday. What a sad day!!!!

Mishell - Hi there!!! I've been meaning to PM you - how've you been??? Don't be a stranger and come by more often :)

Karen - How did you weigh in go?
**HAPPY 500TH POST!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2
I'm so glad we've gotten to know each other throughout all those posts!!!

Abby - I hope your not bummed out about having to go back to the room. It actually will be nice for you all to take a small break during the day. :)

Well, I gotta go get ready for this closing (I'm going with my mom)
Have a good day today everyone!!!

mad4mickey - Welcome back!!!

slo - I'll be sending some pixie dust and hugs your way today!!pixiedust:

Weigh in was OK. James is participating, too. So we are a team! Losing weight is never fun!! But, it must be done!

Hi friends!!! :wave2:

Everything went very smooth today, and the people that bought my Grandma's house were very nice people. They are young (my age) with three children. The children are very very excited about the home, because my Grandma had a very very large back yard. Seeing how nice the people were and how excited they were about the home, made the closing a little easier. Thanks for hugs for me today - I really needed them :grouphug:

Now I'm waiting for Ms. Stephanie to be done with CCD, and I have a pot of Baked Potato Soup on the stove (Campbells frozen = :goodvibes ) Soup sounded so good on a cold day like today. Plus...I have a really bad sore throat today that I'm hoping the soup will sooth.

Well, I guess I should go stir my soup
Have a good night tonight!!!

Idroveallnight- I didnt think you were being nosy at all. I appreciate any input anyone has. Noone else in our families has asthma as severe as Dante so although our families offer up lots of well meaning advise. Its not always current. He has the pari trek battery operated neb. Is that the one you are referring too? Do they have a new smaller one out? We didnt learn about the pari trek until about a year ago and had the doctor right up a script right away. We were so happy to get one with a battery. I was worried about bringing it in, but the locker idea is a good one. Someone took our original one from the plane's overhead compartment last year, so I am a little nervous about losing it again. I dont know if the insurance company would be so willing to replace it again...lol He seems to really be doing so much better, he told me this morning that he is able to sleep better now. WOOHOO 500th post! Thats huge!!!! WTG!! A night in the castle would be the least that could be done...lol And just think you will be there so soon!

Mad4Mickey- Hi! I am Abby a sahm to 2. I am a new addition to this thread. Can't wait to get to know you.

slo- I am so very sorry about your Grandma passing last year. That is so hard. Your so right about remembering it how it was filled with all her things. Hugs to you today. Im sorry to hear about your throat! I hope you feel better! Soup is always good when its cold and you dont feel well.

I have not had a sore throat like this for a long long time:guilty: Last night I used Cloraseptic spray, and that helped a little:rolleyes: Plus I took some Advil PM's to help me sleep, and take the edge off the pain. I sure hope I'm not coming down with a huge cold:sick:

Abby - I'm so glad Dante and is feeling better. That is very good news!!!:cheer2:
**Thanks for the kind words about my Grandma and not feeling well. My Grandma passed away very unexpected last year, on March 10th, in the hospital after a knee replacement. I was very close to her, and this has been a hard year for all of us.

Well, I gotta run, and start thinking about getting Steph up for school.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

slo - how are you feeling? Is your sore throat better?

firemanslady - that's great that you already have the battery operated neb! That's half the battle! That was the one I was talking about. Does he see a pulmonologist in addition to his ped?
Where did you get your ticker? I love it! I want to change mine!!! I can't believe you leave in 5 days!

Sarah (DD18) is sick with a cold. This is the first time she has been sick since she left for college. I went ahead and sent her Valentine box early with some added cold medicine! SHe is really wanting to come with us to Disney, but it just isn't falling into place. I would love for her to go!

We were supposed to leave 2/16 at lunch (early dismissal for kids), but Emily has school tryouts that afternoon! We are working on alternate plans, but it looks like we will have to drive all night :drive: Guess I picked a good name! :lmao:

So, does anyone on here watch American Idol? :happytv: I don't usually, but we have been watching the auditions. Last night they were in Alabama. So, here is what irritated me. People they said no to said "thank you" - thanking the judges for their time & the opportunity and they made fun of them. Who makes fun of people for having manners? That just struck me as odd, especially since the woman who yelled and cussed got about 10 minutes of air time.
Ok, so that didn't really have anything to do with anything! I am just up earlier than usual!

Have a great day!!!

We are working on alternate plans, but it looks like we will have to drive all night :drive: Guess I picked a good name! :lmao:

This made me chuckle!!! :lmao:

No, my sore throat isn't any better:guilty: Thanks for asking!!

I"m sorry about Sarah being sick:sick: I'm sure that Valentines box will help cheer her up :goodvibes

What is Emily trying out for? Is it for :cheer2: ? Or something else?

I don't watch any American Idol, it's not on at a good time for me.

Later gaters!!!

Good Morning Everyone,

Idroveallnight- Boy did you pick a good name. Good Luck with the drive. How long does it take from your area to get there? That is so hard the first time being sick without mom around. I bet she will be happy to receive her box. I wish things would work out for her to come with you. Good luck to Emily with tryouts. Dante sees an allergy and asthma doctor. I have to say that I prefer the Nurse Practitioner to the doctor most of the time I think she listens more. There is also a respitory therapist in the office. They taught him how to use the peak flow meter at home, but I still dont think we do it right most of the time. He generally only gets around a 175 on it.I got the countdown part of my ticker from here: http://v50.net/cdgenerator.php And then another wonderful disser gave me the idea to put a bar graphic above it. Here are a few from my photobucket, feel free to use any one of them. I love to play with graphics, but didnt have the time so these are just ones I found at different graphics sites. I slowed them down from what I found because I know fast flashing can cause some people migraines or seizures.

Slo- Im so sorry to hear about your throat. Do you have a fever? I had strep throat a few months ago, and I waited to go to the doctors because I had no fever and thought I couldnt get it due to having had my tonsils out. I hope you feel better really soon. That is so sad about your grandma passing unexpectedly like that. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

The monorail wouldnt work the first time, so I just added it in underneath. If you would like to use any of those, I can give you the link from my photobucket or you can save them and put them in your own picture hosting account. Have a good day!

Okay everyone, I'm in the process of having a real pity party for myself :charac2: (that's me playing a violen for myself)

I started having alot of knee pain after I started working out, and it's been getting progressively worse. Not only do they hurt, but they sound like crunching rice or squishy shoes when I bend at the knee or walk up stairs. So I decided to go to the doctor today for my sore throat and for my sore knees. He gave me an antibiotic for the throat and had x-rays done of my knees. He said the x-rays look fine, but obviously, my knees aren't fine (he can clearly hear the noise they make). So he's going to schedule an MRI done on my knees to see what is going on in there. He told me until then, no more working out, and no more putting any stress on the knee. He said that this could be a problem stemming back from when I ran before, or my knees could be out of alignment because I may walk abnormally due to my heal spurs (same like Bunchkins). He said that he can't say right now if I will ever be able to run again or not.

I told my mom that it's just not fair that I have all these problems, and they keep coming. I now have the following (and this is the reason for my pity party).
*Rosacea in the eyes
*The possible beginning stages of glaucoma
*Bulging disk, swollen joint, and arthritis in the neck
*Raynauds Syndrome in my hands
*The problem with my knees
*The heal spurs
*I'm sure liver damage is around the corner from all the Advil, Tylenol, and etc that I take everyday:rolleyes:

Am I whining today? I'm afraid I am ::yes::

Well, I guess I should go rest a little bit before Steph comes home.
Sorry to be a whiner today, but it felt kinda good to type this out and get it off my chest.

Talk to you later!!!

:grouphug: So sorry your feeling so down. It sounds like a pity party is in order for sure. So open a bottle of

run a nice

and read a good

. And know that lots of  are coming your way.

slo - I am so sorry you are having a bad day! It's ok to whine! That is a lot to deal with! Everybody needs a chance to vent their frustrations!! I agree with Abby's suggestions!!:thumbsup2

So, here is some pixiedust: and :grouphug: from me!!!

I just love you guys!!! :grouphug:

Thank you my friends for you hugs and letting my whine a little. I normally don't feel sorry for myself, but today I was definitly having a "feel sorry for Sandy day" :upsidedow

My pity party is now over (they usually don't last very long). After I feel sorry for myself, I usually then try to reflect on all the wonderful things in my life, like my girls princess: princess: When I look at them, I always feel better :goodvibes

Now I just have to focus on getting this MRI, and finding out what the problem is. Hopefully it won't be all that bad, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, because worse things could always happen.

Boy, I'm not in the mood to go to work today :sad2: Not only is it freezing cold around here :cold: but my throat still hurts. Hopefully, I won't have to many people come in, because my throat doesn't feel like talking to them.

Have a good day today everyone!!

Good morning! I am not feeling like working today either. Not because I'm sick - I would just rather spend the day in my jammies doing nothing!!
