Calling all Disney Specialists-TA

How do you become a disney specialist. What courses, exams etc do you have to take?

You become a Disney Specialist by graduating from the College of Disney Knowledge. It is basically a correspondence course, and the end of which is an exam that you have to score a certain amount (I think 80%, if I remember correctly) on to pass. Then there are all sorts of continuing educational support from Disney including on-site programs. I think a true Disney Specialist, though, should not only be a CDK graduate, but should have a true passion for Disney. I am a NUT!!! The certificate of graduation is secondary to my love for Disney.

The College of Disney Knowledge is a comprehensive correspondence course offered to U.S., Canadian and Puerto Rican travel agents and wholesale reservation agents who are affiliated with ARC, CLIA or IATA. The information is presented in an easy-to-understand format and allows you to develop your expertise about the Disney destinations, including the Disneyland® Resort, Walt Disney World® Resort, Disney Cruise Line® and other Disney vacations like Disney's Vero Beach Resort on Florida's Atlantic coast and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina. The College of Disney Knowledge core training course is free, and you work at your own pace. Most agents finish the course in 16-18 hours.

Straight from the CDK. You need to be a TA before you can take the course.

But Disney does not allow you to put Disney Specialist on your business cards. I guess it was a few months ago there was a big thing about travel agents using the term. I can understand because the CDK is a pretty easy course and just because you complete that doesn't mean your a specialist by all means!
