Calling all Disney dance moms.....

My daughter's dance group will be performing at Disney this spring. We are so excited but because of my budget I need to start planning.....like yesterday! I know we will get a discounted rate on park tickets but I'm not sure about the other details such as room rates, dining plan etc. Does anyone have any experience in this area? I would love some money saving tips!

In the registration packet you get from your dance instructor, it will have the registration information and the "extra people" order forms. Typically, you will register yourself and others in your party at the time you fill out the paperwork for your daughter. I'm no expert - only did it once, but that's how it worked for us.

Also, if some in your party are going at a different time than the whole group, there's a place to order just the things you need -like park tickets only or room packages.

Cheer team will be there March 15-17 - when will your group be there?

My daughter's dance group performed March 2012 and it was awesome! I was the parent who organized everything along with the dance school owner. The park tickets are a good deal but the room discount we were offered was not even as good as CAA. Everyone booked their own accommodations (some were DVC members, some got pin codes, etc..) and we just put the order in for park passes and meal vouchers. You will have so much fun and it will be a memory your daughter (and you) will never forget

Is this part of the Dance The World Event in June? If it is, you can go to www.dancetheworld.net and see more information. Our studio is going the second dates (I think it's the 29June-July2 2014). Our studio gave us a phone number for a representative at Dance The World who we can call with questions. The room rate was pretty good, the dancer costs about $200 more than the friends and family because they get the charter busses transportation to the practices, the costume, the shoes and the backpack. The meal package was something like $180 for some quick service meals and the big party/dinner at the end of the program. The price for us included 4 day park hopper tickets and we are staying at Port Orleans.

This is something my DD will probably be doing in the next couple years. I'd love to have an idea of how much the room and park tickets will cost so I can go ahead and start planning and budgeting. Would those of you who have been or have that info mind sharing? I'm just looking to get a ballpark idea. TIA

I believe we will be there March 10-14. Our group will stay at the All Star Sports. How does the meal voucher work? We have been to Disney many times but I always purchase the dining plan.

I remember there being a meal voucher for the girls, but do not remember if it was extended to the friends and family or not. Usually the information is posted on the website of the event you are attending.

Our dance school goes every other year. How we did it is order the tickets through the dance school and then everyone made their own resort reservations where ever they wanted to stay. We didn't get meal vouchers, but we just do the workshop and perform one day.
The tickets are only good for a certain time window, like within two weeks of our session. I had thought to buy extra for our next trip, but they don't work like regular tickets you can buy.
