Calling All Creative Types for Surprise!

My DH & I are surprising our DS18 (in one week) with tickets to a Texas Longhorns FB game. We are trying to figure out a way to give him the tickets. We have tried to put our heads together and have come up with....NADA!! I have lurked here since 2007. (I had a previous screen name but changed it so my online name would be the same everywhere) I have seen how wonderfully creative you all are!! Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. Is there a reason for the gift, like birthday or just to be uber nice? You could tell him you need him to help you guys BBQ this Labor Day, have the orange longhorn icon on the package, then when he goes to open the grill you could have a note taped inside, something along the lines of the location of your seats in the stadium...things like that to see if he can put it all together?

Yes, its for his 18th bday. Thats a great idea but we are wanting to give them in the morning before school so he can tell his friends & undo the plans he has already made for his bday weekend. His bday is on Fri 10th, we leave for the game EARLY Sat 11th. He has made plans with his GF and a group of friends to go out Sat. The GF knows the plans but friends do not. Don't think they could keep the secret.

Give him a Texas Longhorns hat, make a BIG deal of the hat, have it wrapped up in a hat box and make it seem like the best gift ever. Then, when he opens the box and sees the hat, he may be a little disappointed but when he takes the hat out of the box and turns it over, attached on the inside of it will be the tickets to the game and watch his expression change in an instant!!!

Buy a football and cut it in half or cut a hole in it or something...put the tickets in the football then give it to him. He'll think he's just getting a football at first.

I would take him to a Longhorn Steakhouse and tell him there!

You could wrap the tickets up (I like the football and cowboy hat ideas).
