Calling All Control Freaks Who Used Me!

How many of you claimed your own baggage and still used ME?
How did it go and what actually happened with your luggage?
Did it go with you on the bus you boarded?

I am looking forward to the responses being a control freak myself

If you choose to grab your own luggage and then use the DME bus, you will just have your luggage put in the belly of the bus. It will then be off-loaded and you will take it with you to check-in at your resort. It will take you a bit longer but people are doing it. Just don't put the yellow tags on your bags. They will get pulled right off the plane and you won't see them again!!!
You will still need to check-in with the DME check-in desk. They will stamp your voucher and you will then be directed to the appropriate bus line.

Hi there! We used ME on May 7th (3rd day it was running.) We claimed our own luggage, because we did not receive any luggage tags. It went very well for us. When we got off the plane, we found a Disney ME worker and she said feel free to grab our own luggage (especially since we didn't have the ME luggage tags), so we went down to baggage claim, and our bags were already there. So we grabbed them, went over to the ME check-in desk. They checked us in, sent us to wait in line for a bus, waited for about 5 minutes. Then we were allowed on the bus, the bus driver put our luggage underneath the bus (they store luggage in the compartments according to what hotel you're staying at.) When we arrived at our hotel, he unloaded our luggage for us and we were on our way to check in. Being a fellow control-freak, it gave me peace of mind to know my luggage was with me the entire time.

I am a control freak (at least that's what my boss once told me )

I am taking ME with the kids and DH will take a rental car, last night I have informed DH that I want to try ME for the only reason that I do not have to take the luggages. He didn't agree at first, but sometimes the woman have to make a call, right .

As an aside, I agreed he can take the rental car at night rather than on the next moring, which would have saved me $24
