I need help.

Everyday, after 30 minutes on the computer..it just shuts off.
This is getting too be very annoying, and I cant go on vmk and play any games in fear of having it shut down.

HELP. >_<

what does it say when you turn it back on like mine says the temperature was above normal ( mine overheats alot ) but thats only when i have the fan blocked by not having my lap top on a cooling board

First thing to do is run a virus scan. Are you using XP, and is it fully up to date? There are some viruses and worms that can cause problems like this.

It's also possible that there's a hardware problem, but other than checking that all your vents are clear (it sounds like it may be overheating) and all the cords are plugged in securely, I'm afraid there's not much help I can give you there, at least over the internet. Do you know anyone who's good with computers who can look at it for you?

both of the things mentioned so far are great advice

many of the code red variant viruses will reboot your machine and heat is a common cause of shutting itself down to prevent burning out.

You are active on the computer when it shuts down right? that will elminate any hibernating, sleeping, or power saving questions.

They are right on the money on this one!

After it shuts off can you start right back up or does it take a few minutes?

If it takes a few there is a little thermal overload switch in there that when it gets too hot it shuts off kinda like you find in hair dryers and coffee makers to protect from overheating or fire.

In the the power supply there is a fan to help move air through to cool it off and the fans fail sometimes before the power supply does so you dont know there is a problem till it just shuts off on you. Look at the back at the top and you should see it check to see if its spinning when turned on.

If not then there you go just need to get a new PS, you can try cleaning with a can of air and it MIGHT work but usually it's cheaper to fix it now than when it fails and you really need it.

If it is well then it could be something else heat related and a larger fan could help or I have worked on a few recently with capacitor plague* and depending on the company they replaced them at no charge.

If you are comfortable working your machine and it is the PS it's a easy swap and can be had online pretty cheap, if you are not comfortable with working on your machine or its not the PS then please get a good tech to check it out for you.

Here is where I get my PS from

My computer just says.. monitor shutting off, and restarts itself, it doesnt shut completely off, but it restarts.
