Calling All CL_'s need your help?

I just had an incident in VMK with a player named Kirstien. I need your opinions on how best to handle this. All opinions welcomed, friends, players and CL's. I'll tell you how I handled things in another post. It's a learning situation so , maybe next time .......


Story:
Kirstien came to be on my friends list a while back when she asked for help since some Dis people kept booting her from their rooms. I told her it was a private party just for DIS players and please not be offended. That's how we met. I offered her my list.

She mails me on VMK once a day, sometimes just to say Hi. Today she mailed me several times to come to her room. I was working with a new player, first day. I told her I would me there shortly. When I arrived, DanTHEMan, a boy player, was asking her about what grade she was in school, middle school? I came in, said "Your not allowed to ask that" Kirstien immediately booted me from the room.

What would you do?

I post what I did in a few minutes.

Ok, my best advice... She obviously doesn't want you butting in when it comes to situations like that, but you did the right thing. I would have said the same thing.

Opinion from a CL:

I think you should try to contact your friend and tell her it is not allowed and she could have serious problems if she speaks about real life on VMK. But, if she just doesn't listen to you, leave her go on with that, she will soon get a warning from VMK and, maybe, a ban. It's the only way she will learn. But also, you have another chance, which I consider very effective, use the Contact Us button and tell VMK the story..

I'm new so please don't laugh at me when I say this.

In my opinion you were just trying to help her out and also trying to teach her the rules and the safety precations of the game. There should be nothing wrong with that well at least not in my mind. Anyways well maybe she just wanted to fend for herself if that can make any sense to you all. Like I said i'm new here so please don't pick on me!! LOL

Here is what I did.

I couldn't press the help button because I wasn't in a room; just a black screen. I mailed Kirstien. "What happened?" No answer. I checked where she was. Can you guess? A boy / girl room. I mailed her again. Said I was removing her from my list and reporting the incident. I went right to a VMK_staffer, ask to speak to her. I lucked into having one staffer on my list and she was working tonight

We went to my room. Just before the staffer entered Kirstien entered my room. Staffer hides in corner and listens to Kirstien. She was sorry and proceeded to talk about what happened. I told her it was for her safety but she didn't seem to care at the time. I just wanted to scare her straight not get her ban. The boy should have been there,got away. I don't know what VMK will do with this.

Well that's what I did.

I kept getting the feeling she thought she could get away with it. Why she booted me still makes no sense. All I would do would be to explain the rule. She excellarated the incident my booting me. I think she deserved a good scare. Who knows what was said before that? Sometimes it's hard to be a community leader but if I prevent one incident and kept one kid safe well it's worth it.

I probably would have reported him, and sent her a message reminding her of the VMK values. I had somebody today asking me where I was from and what my age is, and I politely told that person that giving out information of that sort on VMK wasn't allowed. That person just walked away and started talking to another person. Plus, I don't want to lose my CL status

Good job CL_McBain. I've done the same thing. Many players don't read the rules. I know that Kirstien know better since we have talked about booting players. She never had a reason why, never said she didn't know the rules, she just acted guilty. No one is perfect and the rules are confining. We try hard not to bend them to much. When it comes to safety the rules are unbendable,
