Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Stitch - that's horrible! If DH was at a hospital or care facility of some kind, you may want to consider speaking to someone. The mental health workers in a facility are supposed try to improve a person's disposition not worsen it!
I apologize for not knowing the whole story since I'm new to this thread, but please know that I have added you and your husband to my prayers.

When he was done the idiot told DH that he had no soul.:eek: he said he lost his soul??? Then he added that he should take a hammer to DH's head.:sad2::confused::scared1:
This should be REPORTED asap!!!

Continued thoughts and prayers. :goodvibes

Thanks mac, lots to watch this week! :thumbsup2 I missed Prep & Landing when it first aired, because DirecTv was out that night (snow), so I'm glad it's repeating!

:santa: All!

Good Monday Morning Everyone! :flower3: Boy was I busy this weekend! Saturday had a dentist appt. at 830am. That went well, no cavities, everything looking very good! The hygenist told the dentist that i'll be married next time he sees me, he was all excited and said 'that's right! if you want a polish before you go just give us a call!' :bride: I've been going there since I was a kid so they are very eager to see pictures! Then after the dentist I went to my sister's for our Christmas Cookie Extravaganza. We made tons of cookies. Approx. 12 dozen of kolachky alone! Did a bunch of other stuff too but I won't bore you with details!

Donna ~ I feel the same way! I'm so lucky to have found this thread and you ladies (and gents).

Stitch ~ Glad DH is home. I can't believe a medical professional would say something like that to him. That is just not right. Continued thoughts and prayers coming your way:hug:

Paint ~ I'm anxiously awaiting your TR! Glad to hear you had a nice trip:thumbsup2

Mac ~ Thanks for the listings! I've been waiting for them to replay the Modern Marvels on the History Channel. I missed it last time! I'll make sure to set a reminder for myself this time!

Geffric, Piglet, Bunchkin, Slo, Momto1, Natasha, Sk8Leigh, Tiggern, Hersey, and everyone else ~ :wave2: hope you are all doing well and have a very happy holiday!

Hi gang! Merry Christmas week to everyone! Today is my last day of work until January 4. I can't wait. The weekend was super busy shopping and wrapping. I haven't made any holiday baked goods yet. Not sure what is going to happen there.

Stitch - The psych should be reported to the Department of Professional Regulaitons. Your post made me mad at the "professional". I hope the rest of your weekend went well.

Paint - Welcome back! Can't wait to hear about your trip.

DG - Sounds like you had a busy day on Saturday. I bet the cookie baking was fun!

Hi to everyone! Have a joyous week.
Lori

I started my TR! Come and take a look. I'll give you ladies a hint about one of our starngers....oooh wee...if I was single...:rotfl2: Don't tell dh!:lovestruc

Really rough morning, but finally made DH go for his outpatient treatment. I have a better feeling about this. A woman by the name of Sue was very compassionate and very reassuring. She gave me the name and number of the head of the her apartment. She said I could of course look into reporting that dr but that she would also and she made copies of a letter I wrote so I would not forget to address any issues or concerns.

Promised DD I would take her for a hair cut and taco. Then have a few small errands to run before picking him up at 2:30. I have faith that all will work out at the end. We just have a long and bumpy road we have to get over. Thanks for listening. Thank you all for your support.

Hey everyone! First official day of winter break YAY! =) I still have finals after break so I'm not quite off the hook, plus some college application stuff to finish up. I did have all of my Christmas shopping done already! My dad got my little brother's present for me and my mom's was delivered to my dad's office today. So I am all set, no more mall trips today. I was at Oakbrook today to get help with something on my MacBook and it took me 45 minutes to get home. I live maybe 20 minutes south of the malls...yeah...I was not happy. Anywayy, Christmas is so close and I can't wait. Except we are having both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at my house. We normally only have Christmas Eve at my house with my dad's family but this year my mom's family is coming over on Christmas Day. Not exactly thrilled about this but it'll be okay. =) If I don't get back on here hope everyone has an amazing Christmas! <3

Stitchfans-Glad to hear your husband's home and doing better! I hope everything gets settled with that "professional"; that really bothered me, one of the reason I will not talk to a "professional". Anyway, on a similar note, I never realized that I knew your daughter from the teen board! I guess I just didn't put two and two together until she told me hahah. But she seems like a really great girl, tons of fun to talk to =)
paintnolish-Can't wait to read your TR, read the first post and am excited to hear about the rest!

Hi guys! I'm feeling a bit of the Bah Humbug creeping in!! If we could just eliminate the whole gift giving thing Christmas would be a whole lot less stressful! ;) Just need 2-3 more things and then need to begin wrapping. :headache:

Spent 11hrs at DSILs on Saturday baking and baking and baking. We got a lot done and I now have 4 large tupperwares full of yummy cookies! Definitely a highlight to the season. :cloud9:

My neighbor proposed to his GF last night - so excited for them. They are a really cute couple and I've been giving my neighbor a hard time about when he was going to get around to it. ;) They had a huge party yesterday.

mac - thanks for the listings! Wow, lots on this week. Scheduled that new Prep & Landing because we missed it the first time around too.

MJ - hey, you were in my neighborhood today - I live around 5min north of Oakbrook Mall.

Stitchfans - to you, DH and DD. That "professional" should certainly be reported, what were they thinking?!! I'm hoping the outpatient treatment will be of help to you guys.

paint - can't wait to read all about the trip!

disneygal - we had our Cookie Baking Extravaganza on Saturday too! So much fun and yields the best results! ;)

Donna - hope you have a great week with Christopher visiting!
*Ditto on the feeling of thanks for all here on the thread!

Bunchkin - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!! Today is my aunt's birthday too! Hope you're having a great day!

Well, time to have a pow-wow with DH on the kids lists to make sure we're covered. Anyone seen any of the Zhu Zhu accessories in our area?! Got the darn pets for DD8 but would like the house or ball too and can't find them. Really don't want to be at Walmart at 6am with the hopes of them getting any accessories. Ugh, I hate "it" toys, lol.

Have a great night all!! :santa:

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Started wrapping last night. Have everyone's gifts wrapped except my nephews gifts... i just got them clothes this year. I'm a terrible auntie, I should be getting them toys galore but I just got more bang for the buck with clothes this year. :confused3 Also, i still have to find something for Michael. He's so hard to buy for:laughing: I think I'm going to go shopping tonight possibly.

momto1 ~ hope you have a nice, relaxing 2 weeks off. :wizard:

paint ~ i will be heading over to your TR shortly :goodvibes

Stitch ~ glad you were able to talk to someone about that dr. Glad DH is doing a little better.

ID ~ glad you had a good time baking on Saturday as well! I love baking! :goodvibes

Everyone ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!!!
I appreciate them!!!!:goodvibes
My finger is almost back to normal. The appearance is fine, but it still hurts, like I jammed it. It also goes numb very fast when I outside. I'm starting to wonder if there was some nerve damage done, because blood couldn't circulate properly. Oh well, what will be, will be - I'm just praying it doesn't happen again, at least not anytime soon.

natashag - I never welcomed you
:welcome:
Thank you for joining us - we love having new DISers join us:goodvibes

Stitchfans - How nice that the study hall teacher helped your DD with her project:) You didn't need the added stress of that right now.
**Your post about the psychologist saying your DH had no soul makes me :mad: That person needs to have their license pulled, and not practice anymore - what a terrible doctor!!!!!
**I'm so glad the outpatient lady was nice to you - you deserve to have people be nice to you!!!!:)

Mac - I"m sorry to hear that your parents were/are not doing well :guilty: I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Bunchkin - :cake: Happy Birthday!!! :cake:
I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday!!!!!!

To everyone else - :wave2:

I gotta run and get back to work - I still have orders to do for Christmas. I'm pretty caught up though, which is good, and helps me not feel to overwhelmed :thumbsup2

Have a good day!!!

Don't know what I have done so wrong. Just when I get a moment of happiness it is snatched away from me. DH had to be readmitted into the hospital. He was not really well enough to be out yet I guess. He made no sense and grabbed a kitchen knife which he held to his stomach. Wish DD hadn't witnessed this. What must she think? Then he went berserk in front of Walgreens when we tried to pick up some prescriptions before the knife incident.

DD had to go in and get our prescriptions. I thank God every day for her. She is what is keeping me going. She helped me get him safely back into the van. She was out there for an hour and a half shoveling snow with me. Her Christmas is going to be so crappy and she hasn't made one complaint.

My dad is in the hospital with a minor heart attack and pneumonia so we won't be going to see him. I guess we will spend whatever time they will let us with DH at the hospital.

It ripped my heart out when the elevator door closed on him and he was crying out my name. I wanted to run and hold him but I couldn't. They wouldn't let me. I am so tired of crying. I am so tired. Praying does not seem to help any more.

Oh my God Susan. . . I haven't posted in a while but have been lurking and keeping updated on what's going on with everyone. I am so sorry. I have gone through this with my uncle and it is heartbreaking to watch and to be a part of. I am sure you are tired of praying so I am going to pray for you. I am going to ask God to help you stay strong. I am going to ask God to watch over your husband and give him relief. I'm sure you are all scared. We will pray for you all!

I'm also going to give you a little advice. I'm sure you have heard it and you know this but please make sure you and your daughter take a break for a bit. You have done all you can today. Even if it means taking the phone off the hook for a while. You want to be able to process this. Also, your DH is newly on meds. If it is a few different meds then you want to make sure they are not "bumping" against eachother. Psych meds are great, however, their side effects are very tramatic, and bad is bad. They need to adjust his meds and unfortunately you will become a pro at what works and what doesn't. In the great scheme of things giving him relief is worth it.

I know I am stating the obvious but sometimes when you read it something clicks and helps.

:grouphug:

Evening all!

Oh Stitchfans, I'm so sorry for you, DH and your DD.:hug: Mental illness can be a very scary thing. I agree with esbrick, you and DD need to take a break from everything. You both might need to get some counseling too to help you process all of this. I'll be praying for you.

esbrick - glad to see you posting again!

slo - glad to hear the finger is getting better.
*Did you ever find your Dora flip out couch thingy? I was at Walmart today and they had three. They also had Spiderman, Princesses and Lightening McQueen.

Well, I got two gifts wrapped today. ;) Not much but it's a start! DH is meeting someone right now to get a Zhu Zhu pet accessory and then we're DONE! :cheer2: DH is going to take the kids to his mom's tomorrow so I can get a bunch of wrapping done.

Not looking forward to the weather forecast and hoping the weathermen are wrong! Hope everyone stays warm and safe! Have a great night all. :santa:

My mom has set off on her baking attempts for the year. Not off to such a good start. The mexican wedding cookies she tried to make first she used the wrong type of sugar. Then we didn't have one ingredient for the 7 layer bars. Now I'm pretty sure she just burnt the chocolate chip cookies she made...Good thing my dessert I'm making tomorrow won't go wrong or we'd have no dessert. I've been making it since I was little and haven't screw up yet! *knock on wood* :rotfl: My mom's present came in the mail yesterday so I'm done worrying about that. My senior photos came in to so I'm all set. Now just stressing out about college/art school decision. Here's to hoping it will just work itself out hahah! =)

irish dancer- I didn't realize you were that close. I'm always in the area of the malls. There's not too much for my friends and I to do around us so we head to the mall area since there seems to always be something do.
Stitchfans I'm real sorry to hear about everything that's been happening. Your daughter really is a great girl, so much strong than I would be. I send my thoughts to you all every day. :grouphug:
