Well, it's time to get rockin and rollin - have a good day!!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: The game is supposed to be tonight :sad2: We are betting on it being canceled. I'm a little bummed but what ya gonna do right? If it is, it will be rescheduled! I picked up my wedding band last night! I LOVE IT!!! It's so dainty. I took pics and will post them when I find my cord. I'm still looking for it!

PCM ~ Welcome to our thread! I also wish I had known about the college program when I was in college! It seems like a fabulous experience. I'm from the South Suburbs!

Paint ~ YAY for almost being done!:cheer2: Good luck on your tests!

ID ~ Hope you can get that chain fixed in time!

Piggy ~ so glad you got good news!!!!

Tigg ~ Good luck with that computer system!

Everyone else :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Hi gang! Rain, rain go away, the baseball want to play today. Doesn't look good for the start of a 4 day tournament. I have the feeling we will be playing catch-up all weekend.

DG - Would find that cord?? We need to new do and now the wedding band. This is too much suspense.

Slo - I remember when you got Sophie. Just like our kiddos - growing up fast.

ID - good luck on getting the chain fixed. It sounds like you will have a wonderful weekend and it looks like the weather will cooperate. I hope your ds gets through his transitions without too much stress.

Princesscastmember - Your job sounded like so much fun! Our neighbor is in the college program now doing parade control at MK. He wants to extend his stay another semester and eventually get hired on. My ds told me he wants to draw for Disney!

Hi to everyone else. Have a great day!
Lori

Good Morning everyone!

I haven't really caught up with who is new, what is going on for whom, etc.... but I know this thread and am just jumping in from this starting point. I have scaned back some but would take me forever to go back and see everything going on.

I'm so sick of this rain!!! My 8 year old is on a walking history field trip around out town today. I bet he's having so much fun -- NOT. I made him take his winter coat, not because it's cold outside but because it has a hood & hopefully he won't be soaked to the bone this way.

DD had a photoshoot on Tuesday with a local photographer with the pageant so she can enter photogenic. I can't wait to see them as she won't even look like herself I'm sure. She took her glasses off for the pictures, had new make-up on & we curled her hair a little (doused it with hairspray too since her hair does NOT hold a curl for anything! :lmao:). I watched the shoot but what *I* saw may not be what shows up in the actual picture since I'm pretty sure some of the things were for effect and not to be part of the actual picture.

And the fun news, I won $1,000 so I'm going to put that toward our 2010 Disney trip that I'm hoping to take. I *really* want to get that booked soon but I don't have a clue what we are doing with it. I'm pretty sure we want to go during Star Wars weekend but can't really commit to a date yet. I also don't know if we want Contemporary or Grand Floridian or ??? Also don't have a clue if DH is really coming along or not. Basically I feel like this  for everything on it.

DG - Did the game get cancelled last night?
**I can hardly wait to see your wedding band - I bet it's beautiful!!!!

momto1 - Was your son's game cancelled last night?

Becky - I don't blame you for not reading everything that's gone here - you'd be doing that forever!!! If you have any questions about someone or something, just post it and we'll fill you in :thumbsup2
**Congrats on winning the $$$$$ That's awesome!!!!!:yay::woohoo:

Well, I gotta run - have a great day everyone!!!

Morning..

Today is not as busy as the rest of the week has been.. but I do need to drive Geoff to another scout's house today after school for him to drive to the camp and do some pre preparation work.. Eric is umpiring a baseball game today at 6 pm and i volunteered to work the track team dinner since i thought Eric would be there.. oh well..

I did get ADRs for the summer trip... one for Fantasmic dinner so we could be assured seats at Hollywood and Vine.. another at Chef Mickey's - Eric's favorite place.. so our plans are - drive Thursday, Friday is Warped Tour for the boys and check in for us.. and then we will hang around DTD and Citywalk and pick up the boys when Warped Tour is over.. since we are on military tickets it is one day one park..so

Sat - US/IOA
Sunday - check in at OKW - MK
Monday is AK
Tuesday is Epcot
Wednesday move to AKL and US/IOA
Thursday- MGM
Friday MK
Saturday hang at AKL kidani pool area, ice cream at Beaches and Cream, min golf and then drive home..

Any plans for the weekend?? Geoff will be gone all weekend and Eric will need to have us drive him around.. other than that I discussed with DH yard work that needs to be done this weekend..

see ya later..

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: just a quick fly by today. My co-worker is out today and it's the first day of the new fiscal year so I will be quite the busy bee today!

Slo ~ No, the game was not cancelled!!! However, they lost in the 10th inning.:sad2: But we had a fabulous time.

Geffric ~ Your ADRs sound great! I really want to go to Chef Mickeys the morning after the wedding. We'll see if I can convince Mike! I haven't been there since I was 9 so it's on my list

Everyone else ~ :wave2: have a great day!

geffric, be sure to check out BOMA since you will be staying at AKL. They have great food. If you can fit the clambake in at Beach Club, that is good too. And their oreo cookie desert balls are the best! Your trip looks like it's going to be great fun.

Morning all. I thought it was going to be a nicer day.:rolleyes1At least I got the dog walk in. Picking up my mom for lunch today and maybe a trip to the book store. She loves the book stores.

Welcome Princess castmember. Come by to visit often and share all your stories. We love "vacationing" through others memories.

DG, sorry they lost on you. Did you get rained on at all?

Well, I'd best get my shower and get ready to go.
Later all.

Hi gang! It is going to be a baseball weekend! Since ds game was cancelled yesterday, we have a game at 8:00, 11:30, 5:00 and 8:00 if they win on Saturday and then on Sunday if the when the 8:00 game. I guess I won't have time at the camper this weekend.

DG - Sounds like you had a great time!

Geffric - Your summer plans sound great! We like Chef Mickey's too. I second Tiggern suggestions of the Cape May Clam Bake. It was so yummy!

Becky - Congrats on winning the money! That is awesome.

Hi to everybody else! Have a great weekend.
Lori

.

Thanks.. we are going to try the counter service plan for the OKW part so the AKL part is the only one where we will have ADRs... DH hates Boma.. won't even try it again.. I had mentioned it and he said he would go somewhere else.. boo!
But it was wonderful last time I was there.. Loved the Clam Bake at BC..

Eric wants to go to Beaches and Cream and have a Kitchen Sink .. he remembers it fondly .. Funny thing is that we only had the kitchen sink once when he was smaller about 5 years ago..:confused3.. after both boys finished it and wanted more ice cream.. they decided that I ate all of the ice cream.. ( who me? Couldn't be;)) .. They have been ordering sundaes with 3 scoops each... so they don't have to share with me.. :) so I get my own no way jose.. and they order what they want and if they are still hungry then they can get food..

Hi guys! Just a quick drive by. Got a lot of errands done so far today. Took my mom to get her hair cut and picked up a wheel chair for her for tomorrow. Confirmed the hall and caterer. DSis picked up the cake, it is beautiful. Picked up DDs necklace from the jeweler and got her some cross ear rings. Still have to steam the dress and veil and fix the vases for the table centerpieces. Really hoping we get a nice day, very tired of the rain.

Becky - congrats on the $$$. Don't worry about trying to read back and catch up just jump right in.

geffric - my DH didn't like Boma when we tried it either but he's giving it another go on our June trip for our "date night". We're not real big fans of Chef Mickeys unfortunately and would love to try the Clam Bake.

momto1 - wow, that's a lot of baseball!! Best of luck with all the games..

disneygal - sorry they lost but glad you had a great time.

slo - DS has had to move around schools because he is in Spec Ed and they are spread all around the district depending on the grade. He should stay there for 4th and 5th and then move to middle school - yikes! His meeting went well but it took 2.5 hrs!! DH and I hadn't eaten lunch figuring we'd go out after. Boy were we starving!

Well, gotta run. DS should be getting off the bus and I want to get the dress steamed so I'm not running around tonight. Have a great night everyone. Don't think I'll be on tomorrow so see you all Sunday!

Irish_dancer -- Wow! Long IEP meeting but I know how those go!!! Usually ours is an hour but they have gone into OT so to speak.

Want to hear a funny about the last one I was at? They arranged to get my little guy into Preschool under the "at risk" category just a couple months ago. He was already getting speech, will go to Kindergarten next year but his fine motor skills stink (I swear ALL my boys have horrible fine motor skills -- I'm thinking the common denominator for that is ME... :sad1: ).

Anyway, they had his meeting for change of placement as he is going to Kindergarten next year...I walk into the room & I recognized everyone. I think the psychologist was freaked -- he was the only one who was fairly new to me that I met at the first placement meeting. He seemed a bit baffled that I knew everyone already (apparently that doesn't happen often in preschool!!) :rotfl2: We didn't have to do introductions, even the Kindergarten teacher rep. he had for a class at the park district! It was a different Kindergarten teacher on the form (which I would have also known) but they tell you up front, whoever shows up at the meeting may not be the teacher your child gets since they don't have enrollment figures yet.

That is just not normal as there was also one of the speech pathologists & resource teachers from the grade school there. I just felt rather old knowing how long I've known some of them for.

I'm excited DD got her 2nd magazine for the pageant, so more info. Woo Hoo. Now to see if she is up to selling ads or not. It's not a requirement but they put that on there for either businesses or well wishers to put messages. The offer prizes for this if she chooses to do so. We already working on getting sponsors.

We should be getting the pictures from our sponsoring photographer next week (at least proofs). I can not wait to see how they turned out, the hardest part will be picking ones out. I LOVE pictures so will probably end up asking if I can buy some extra ones vs. just the ones he's giving us for the pageant unless I really *hate* a pose or something, that's rare for me. I found deciding really, really tough and I have to do nitpicking to not end up buying hundreds of dollars worth of pictures. Something like "that strand of hair is out of place" picky. :lmao: I'm never going to be able to pick just 4, hopefully she will be better than I would with this.

And last of my rambling but are we DONE with the rain yet? DS-8's field trip got cancelled yesterday due to forecast of lightening. I'm amazed we got a note we would be getting a refund though. I didn't expect that, it was with the History center so I just figured they would keep it. I don't know who cancelled though the school or the center.

Hooray - we woke up the sun!!! :sunny:

What are you all doing today?
I am working all day, and then going to church.
I"m hoping that this nice weather brings me some business today {{fingers crossed}}

geffric - Going to Beaches and Cream to have a kitchen sink is on my "to do" list. I've heard so much about it, from so many people, that I need to try it for myself. With as much as I love sweets and sugar - it will be love at first sight/bite

DG - I'm glad you had a great time at the game:cool1:It's just to bad they lost:guilty:

TTTTTTiiiiiggggernnnnnnnnnnn - I hope you had a nice afternoon with your mom. Where did you go to lunch?

momto1 - Wow, that's a lot of baseball games :faint: Good luck to him with all those games:wizard: He's going to sleep good tonight!!

ID - I'll keep your DD in my prayers on this very special day :bride: May God bless her abundently!!!!
**I didn't know that children in special ed had to be moved to different schools. Does this upset him at all, or does he go with the flow?

Becky - Continued good luck to your DD:wizard: This sounds like a great experience for her!!!!:)

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
Have a great day!!!

Have I said lately how much I love :sunny:

My friend and I went to a local boy scout troup that sells perrienals yesterday. Of course I bought some plants. I bought a beautiful clematis for $10.00. Beacause the weather has been crappy they don't have the selection they normally have. I hope they sell out.

I hope everyone is well or getting close to being well. Sorry I have been busy lately and not keeping up. :flower3:

I hope to get my act together and schedule DS-8 birthday party. I'm *usually* much more organized but DD's surgery put a cramp in my style. ;)

I'm going to try and see if I can schedule a movie birthday party for him. His birthday is May 22 and Night of the Museum 2 comes out that day. He had never seen the first one, so I bought it the other day. The older kids saw it at the theatre and LOVED it. It was a movie I always planned on getting but just never really got around to it. Anyway, I didn't want to schedule the party for movie #2 without him seeing #1, I wasn't sure it would make any sense. He finished watching it last night and liked it. I'm just afraid they may already be booked up as I'm thinking that is going to be a big movie. I will probably make it for Sunday afternoon though as more chance his best friend can come and plus it would be cheaper with mantinee prices. We shall see if booking 20 something days out works.

I suppose if the party rooms are booked, I can always just take the kids to the movie and come back here or something. I just don't like having boy parties at my house if I can help it (bad past experience), especially when I can't guarantee I can throw them outside to play.

My older boys need new jeans too so hopefully I can find some. The ones they are wearing right now are so short on them when they sit down. Just the oldest really needs some because then I will pass his down to the 8 year old & it will work. Kids have to quit growing taller!!!

LOL Becky2005.. that is too funny.. good luck with the party.. the movie sounds lie a great idea..

HERSEY - thanks for supporting boy scouts.. they so appreciate it..

SLO - I'll find the pics and post them.. really cute.. but many years ago..

momto1 - how are the BB games going??

Eric umpired 2 games 1 friday and 1 this morning.. then offf to Palatine Relays, studying and then the movies tonight.. gonna be glad when he can drive..

This is a quick drive-by hello :car:
I need to go to work for awhile and get caught up.
With doing everything myself, I'm getting behind.
I haven't been super busy, it's just the people that's come in has brought in multiple things - which is great!!!
I don't plan on being at work all day, just for a little while.

It looks like today is going to be beautiful - I hope you all enjoy it!!!:goodvibes

Slo :hug:It is great that you are getting business. I hope things start to pick up. Sorry you have to work on such a beautiful day.

How was everyone day yesterday?

Last night Alex and I went to a astronomy exhibit and lecture at Harpe college. Very interesting. I didn't realize how many geeks there are that have telescopes. Holy cow batman those puppy are one expensive hobby. Depending on if they can take pictures with it it can be in the several thousand dollar range.

Well I better go finish the :laundy: before we make more.

Anyone here in Southern IL and if so, do you know how long it takes you to drive to WDW?

We are actually really planning to go in June 2010. Last time what we did was leave at some unknown AM hour (something like 2 or 3 AM) and got to a little before Atlanta, GA but it took us forever. I think we had lots of extra stops since the kids were a lot younger then too.

This time I'm thinking maybe leaving right after DH gets off work on Friday and just getting to Southern IL/barely into KY but I'm wondering just how far we need to go so it's not a total killer drive on Saturday. I have to re-look at the route...I know it's 47 to 74 to 57 to 24 LOL! At least that's the way we took last time. I'm still not 100% convinced 47 is the best way but *everyone* seems to think it's the fastest way. I've heard it from several people.

Becky2005 - when we drive from NW Suburbs - it takes 1 hour to get around the city ( doing the 53 to 94 to 80 route) when we leave at 3 am we drive until past Macon.. Altanta is about 10 hours from us.. when we leave about 3 or 4 in the afternoon to drive to Bowing Green KY..
