Evening all!! Been MIA for a few days and had a lot to catch up on.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all those of you with NIU connections. Truly a very sad event. My DH is an NIU alumni. His dorm was Neptune, very near the student center and Cole. He couldn't believe it. He was wishing he still had some of his college sweatshirts (I think he's long outgrown them all.) to wear for support.
tmq, many hugs and prayers for your family. And congrats to your DD on her acceptance to the nursing program. We need many more nurses - I am growing very weary!!
Bunchkin and Piglet, great to hear your family members are recovering.
Katie, Bunchkin, and Becky, hope you are feeling better soon.
Slo, hope you don't catch what's going around at your house.
Welcome to our new members.
DMM, congrats on your business upswing and have a great time on your trip. Where are you staying this time? POP?
Good luck with Roman's surgery. Hope all goes well.
Well, going to go check out the rest of my threads.
Oh, Buchkin, definately count us in if I am off work. Would love to join everyone in a meet. Would love to meet some more Disers!!!

DMM, congrats on your business upswing and have a great time on your trip. Where are you staying this time? POP?
Good luck with Roman's surgery. Hope all goes well.

Thanks, we're counting down the days like MAD :) POP for sure! We wanted everyone that knows us there to meet the new little guy.

THank you for your kind thoughts on Romans Surgery, we are glad to have DIsney right now as a distraction as we just keep worrying ourselves sick with this. He's just such a little guy.

On a brighter note she receved her acceptance letter to the nursing program at ECC. She is one of 85 out of over 300. Whew that is a HUGE relief.
Congrats to your stepdaughter, making it in the nursing program at ECC! :woohoo: :yay:
I was a graduate of the nursing program at Harper College back in 1990.
That was an extremely tough program, but well worth it :thumbsup2

We were so lazy yesterday, that I'm almost embarrassed.
We got up late, and then I made some pancakes :goodvibes
We took our showers, and got into some comfy clothes
We then sat and watched TV all day:happytv:
We watched the movie Jump In (Disney Channel movie that we rented)
Then we watched Toy Story 2
After that we watched Are We There Yet (very funny)
And between that we watched regular TV
It was great to have a day to chill out!!!!! :goodvibes

Today Stephanie has the day off of school, so she is spending the day with my mom. Katie is doing much better, so she is off to daycare today (let's hope she doesn't get anything else - fingers crossed).

Bumping for all to see!

I will start a seperate meet thread soon! :goodvibes

My family and I might be interested in the Wall-E meet, depending where it is and if we're in town at the end of June.

Yawn.......

Stephanie woke up last night heavily complaining of a stomachache. So I sat up with her for awhile, and then eventually gave her a bucket, and told her to try and sleep. She did go back to sleep, but I didn't sleep well again, because I was waiting for her to get back up. So now I"m not sure what to do with her. Do I send her to school, or do I keep her home? I hate to keep her home when nothing happened, but I hate to send her to school and have her get sick in front of her friends - how embarrassing!!!! What to do, what to do?!?!?!

tmq - How did your stepDD do yesterday? I was thinking of her

Dan - I was so happy to see your post!!! :goodvibes When you have a chance, please let us know how your new grandbaby is doing.

Bunchkin - I'm glad you are feeling better:), and your welcome!!!! :goodvibes

DS - :wave2:

Well, I"m off and running!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Hi everyone just wanted to drop in and let you all know that Jen held up pretty good yesterday.... I think by having soooo many of her friends there it really helped. I think the rough part is around the corner when all the smoke clears and she has time to reflect. Her friends sister is still in ICU but improving everyday.
THANKS again for all the well wishes and prayers sent her way.:goodvibes

Ooo Sandy, that really stinks, I hope she is doing better.
Something buggy with the stomach is going around though! I had Roman, Gabriel and Sal sick as dogs and throwing up last week and when we met up with my dad over the weekend for dinner, he said he had a stomach bug too. YIKES!

Morning all.
Bunchkin, yes I have been working lots of extra hours. Working on that extra cash for those 2 trips to Disney.:rotfl2:
That flu bug is definately going around. We must have had 4 patients yesterday that were pregnant, but were coming to the hospital not for pregnancy problems, but for flu symptoms. But of course, the ER says, "they're pregnant, so you have to see them first". Yeah, because nausea and diarrhea are going to put them directly into labor!!! NOT!!! If I get out of this winter without a bug, it will be a miracle!!!
I had the worst flu when I was pregnant with DS. It was DD birthday, too and we were having her party at my sister's house. I thought I would never live through that day. (But I didn't go running to the hospital.) I don't understand how patients think these days. Can't anyone ever call their drs. office first for some advice before they run to the ER for the flu. HELLO, unless you are dehydrated, you will recover fine AT HOME!!! We don't want to share your disease!!!!:rolleyes1
OK, rant over. Just had to get that off my chest.
Sandy, sure hope Stephanie makes it through the day OK. Kellie tries every night to act sick and then in the morning to stay home from school. I keep asking her why she doesn't want to go to school. No reason, is what she tells me. And when I am at the school, there are never any problems that I can see. Kids are lounging during reading time in the bean bags on the floor. No teasing or anything, so I don't know what the problem could be.
Well, I need to clean the house today and get to exercising at the club. Had a bad week last week (only made it there once :rolleyes1 ). That will never get me in shape.
Oh, did you all catch the new contestants for DWTS. Kristi Yamaguchi, Marly Matlin and Priscilla Presley were the only ones I recognized. I'll root for Kristi. I always liked to watch her skate.
Later

good tuesday morning chicagoland homies.

just think, once the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand on the 5 today, it will be only 3 more work days this week...!!!!

slo, i hear ya
never easy to make a decision on what is right for the child.

let us know how it went.

hugs, prayers, good thoughts to all that are sick or healing now.

inside this box are many friends that think of you and your situations.

Hello!

Anyone else dealing with raging sinus problems?? :headache: :headache:

This weather stinks!!! Sunday was so beautiful temperature wise. I want Sunday back!! :) My sinuses want spring to come soon!! :)

Tiggerrn I agree with you, people should call their ob doc first before over reacting and heading to the hosp.
I always called my doc with questions. Once though while I was pregnant with DD I did have to go to the hosp because I was dehydrated and getting false labor pains. It was the middle of summer and I wasn't paying close enough attention to how much I was drinking.

slo I sure do hope that Stephaine isn't getting the stomach flu. It sure does affect people differently though. The 3 of us who got it here had all different problems. :sad2:
How is Katie feeling today?

DMM Being sick must have been hard on the baby. Poor fella!

For some reason I keep thinking it's Thrusday and Lost is on tv tonight!!! :confused3 My days are so screwed up when the kids get extra days off.

DMM Being sick must have been hard on the baby. Poor fella!

yeah it was pretty rough, he wanted to be held the entire time, which in the end made for cranky jealous toddlers :) The poor guy just wanted to eat and eat and then poof he threw it up. :sad2:

I really think that this little can't catch a break. :sad2:

Hi Sandy,
I hope your little one is feeling better this afternoon... It stinks when they are sick and there is nothing you can really do for them...
