I have an important question to ask anyone who works at Disney World. Before you beat me up too bad, I have searched and searched for the answer and since the DIS has never failed me, I just have to ask :-)

My wife works at Animal Kingdom, and just got her blue Main Gate Pass! I was just added to "the hub" and will be getting mine (I'm not employed at Disney World) but I'm wondering if I use my pass (the one with my name on it) to admit only myself (no other guests) will it count towards our limit of 12 entrances per year or do I get unlimited entrances (excluding blackouts of course!) I have heard several different opinions from ex-CMs, but none who know for sure. If you are married to a CM, I'd *love* to hear from you!

Ok, not from personal experience but if I'm understanding the rules right. Yes, it will count towards the 12. The maingate acts like a 12 day pass. Each time it is used it (whether just by you, or you and other people) it takes one away from the 12. Your name being on it just means that you can use it without your wife present, it does not give you the same rights as the CM to unlimited attendance.
Your wife however can use her Disney ID anytime she wants, as many times as she wants, 365 days a year, unless they have blocked CMs out on a particular day because attendance is too high. She will never need to use the maingate if it's just herself.

I agree with the prior poster. You are actually best off having her go over to Company D and get a discounted Florida Resident AP for you or get one of the referral cards and get a Resident AP.

The thing about the Blue Main Gate is it allows the bearer to enter the park with proper ID and to bring in up to the number of Guests listed on the pass. When either she or you use the MGP it will take a day's use from the 12 days permitted by the pass. And the total is 12 per year per CM and not per MGP.

You should only use the MGP if you are bringing along additional Guests.

And if the MGP says three Guests (as mine does) you cannot both use your MGPs on the same day to bring in more than three Guests.
