If you had to choose between Canon A80 and Kodak DX4530 which would you choose and why?

What about the Canon Powershot 4.0 Megapixal 5X7 silver?

I don't know about the others, but I have the Kodak DX4530. It takes great pictures, and it is very user friendly. I was able to get it for $260, a great price for a 5mp. I also bought the printer dock that was offered. Looks just like prints from the store. The only down to that is it only prints 4x6. So I have an Epson photo 830, which is great for printing larger images. So the kodak dock is good for 4x6 as it uses less ink. I don't know if it is still available, but there was a rebate going around for $50 off the printer if bought at same time/place as the camera (I did this in early Oct). So I got the printer for $29! I was amazed at the quality, I thought for that price it would just be ok, but you'd never know it was from a home printer (having a 5mp camera helps also though). They had the rebate forms on office max I think, but I bought them from Dell.

Digital Camera Review has some good info on different cameras.

Good luck!

We have 3 Canon's and just bought the A80 for DS for xmas.

herc.

I would suggest, if you have the money, to get the 4 megapixel camera.
I have a 5megapixel, and my mom has a 4 mega pixel (or higher), and when you have the images printed they come out beautiful you can hardly tell they're digital. With other cameras (less mega pixels) it is much more noticable. I don't know much about the cameras mentioned, but if it were up to me I'd get the most megapixels.

tricia.

Canon all the way, I wouldn't go any other way. We love all of them that we have had and the company really stands behind their product!

I just bought a Canon S50 in October before we went to Disney World.
I admit I did not read the manual very thoroughly but the idea is it is a fancy point and shoot. Well apparantly that version has a problem w/ red eye reduction. All of my pictures from our week long Thanksgiving cruise had red eyes. Bummer. Most of the Disney World pictures were outside so I did not notice as much.
The guy at the camera store said it was the camera's fault. Something like the flash is too close to the lens.
For $500.00 I got a lot of crappy pictures.
frustrating.
