Calling all AKL experts

A couple of questions about AKL. We are going in December and staying at BWI, but some friends are thinking of trying AKL.

They are staying 3 nights and have no kids.

Any info on best areas to request (they are booking a Savannah view)? Also is the DVC construction an issue as far as noise goes?

Any other good things to know would be appreciated!!

stay away from the Arusha savanna (where the head of the Impala is) as the noise on that side of the resort was awful. All you could hear in the morning was the beep-beep-beep of the trucks backing up and the sound of construction equipment. If you stay on the right side of the Arusha savanna, then the noise is not a problem. The side where the impala symbol is there were no animals during the 2 days we were there, most likely cuz they were scared away by the construction. We finally had it after 2 days and were moved to the Zebra trail/Uzima savanna. Just my .02 as others have said they heard no noise, but we sure as heck did. Woke my 3 year old up 2 days in a row.
