I don't know what view to expect with this room or if I have a choice of savannahs. I've read that concierge rooms are on the 6th floor and some on the 5th. Are the room views different on the two floors? Is it possible to get the Zebra trail Arush savannah, which I've read is a good view?

Can anyone tell me where the concierge rooms are on the AKL map?

Thanks!

I don'r have any idea where ALL the concierge room are. I can tell you for absolutely certain that there is more than one view. The Concierge lounge is right at the top of the elevators next to the front door. Our room, 6208, was just a few steps from the concierge lounge. In front of our front door was the balcony that you looked over to see the lobby. There was another hall that I believe had room on both sides that went off at a right angle to our hallway/balcony. On the right side of this hall would be a view of the Sunset Savannah....if there were roms on the left side, they would have a view of a different savannah.

Someone with better info will post soon. It was my first time, we thoroughly enjoyed it and will go back again....we will probably do either GF or AKL concierge next time my wife and I go alone....the AKL concierge was better than fantastic, the only reason I would consider anywhere else, and I would only consider the GF, is the monorail and granduer of the GF.

Firdye: We stayed at the AK Lodge, Concierge, last December. The concierge rooms on the sixth floor overlook either the sunset savannah or the pool area. We were on the fifth floor, Kudu Trail, whcih overlooked the Arusha Savannah. I believe there are only twelve rooms located on the sixth floor with the rest of the conceirge rooms located on the fifth. I do not know if any of the fifith floor rooms are on the Zebra Trail.

W've stayed 4 times at AKL concierge, each time having rooms 6204 and 6205. 6204 is a special needs room, and I prefer being on the 6th floor for easy access to the lounge, not having to use the elevators, etc. The savannah view though, is not as desirable as the rooms on the 5th floor. There's a thatched half- roof over the balcony which blocks the view somewhat, plus you get a view of the "corral" for guests and there aren't any zebras on that savannah. If you're wanting the best view, I'd choose the 5th floor rooms. ---Kathy

Definitely go for the 5th floor. The Sebra trail does have Concierge rooms. I stayed on Sebra trail with bunk beds. I did not want a 6th floor view. It was a pain thought to go to the lounge. You had to take the elevator, put in the key to the 6th floor and then back again to use the lounge.

In all honesity, the next time I am going to AKL, I'm not going concierge. If you want the view, which I do, I don't want the extra expense of concierge since it was such a hassle getting to it.

Other hotels, I definitely choose concierge.

I just don't know why they built the Concierge lounge where they did there.
