We lived in Hanover Park when DH and I were first married! We now live about 30 minutes from there.

Doreen: Maggie isn't a "big boss" but she is the head of this department. It's actually only her and I working in our department. Our department consists of 2 large offices; 1 has her desk in it, mine is in the other. We have all of the original vehicle titles in these rooms in fire and water proof vaults, as well as every single customer file. I can't even begin to list all of the duties of this job!! I am still thoroughly enjoying it though... well, as much as one can possibly enjoy being in an office. LOL Maggie absolutely appreciates how fast I've picked up on everything... And hopefully the department won't have completely disintegrated under my control by the time she returns on the 13th.

We are! We're in 2626 and have a friend in 2590. Never been on deck 2 before, but we couldn't do the verandah this time. Better sailing than not sailing, I say!

Update on Tropical Storm Chris: when I said "eastward" I really meant, "it's in the east, moving west toward Florida". Geez, I don't understand how you couldn't get that from "Eastward". LOL, at least I new what I meant.

Doreen, he's a veteran of Jones Beach, Central Mall; he just now moved to Rbt Moses for a change of pace (hmmm, mellowing out in his 30s???); I'll be on Long Island this weekend, checking out his new post.

Two co-workers of mine found a man passed out yesterday from the heat on the side of the road, he was breathing but was not responding to their questions, the men called the police and the paramedics. I didn't hear anymore about the man, but how scary to come across something like that.

Linda, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister's friend.

Ok, I've got to get out the door and get my work day under way, will check in later.

Andy: That is scary. Hope he is o.k I don't remember the last time we were under a heat warning before. I dare say I don't know what I was thinking booking a cruise for Aug.

I haven't heard from my brother Rob as of yet, I've sent him a couple of e-mails, but he doesn't reply quickly, or at all, most times as he is usually too darn busy.

No funny happenings today, unless you consider having to be a parent to "your" parent funny. My mom is sooooooooooooo bad when it comes to keeping a checkbook. All I have to say is, I'm glad I have free access to her checking account or she would be in so much trouble, LOL!!!

Time to get some lunch.......the area I am working in today is more rural, so I am able to keep my work car with me and drive from stop to stop, thereby keeping myself cooler. I still went through four 16oz bottles of water this morning though.

Doreen: Tina would really like to earn a medal but with a group of disers. I don't want to take away from party though. Games start Monday at 2:45. The way things have been going though........I might be lucky to get out of the cabin. Hoping things improve drastically or magically by the 18th.




Feel good that I crossed 8 things off my many lists today, off for a nap. Who is missing there docs now ??

JOYCE... I love Irish names too! And my best friend's name happens to be Siobhán.. (pronounced Sheevaun).

How are all the family? I don't envy packing in your house!!

Packing??? I wish that I could do some packing.....I am trying to get our oldest ready for a study abroad in France.....my best friend and I are accompanying her over....TWO AND 1/2 DAYS after we get off the boat! We have to be cruise packed and France ready before we leave......I have to get my butt in gear!!! Packing a family of 8 seems easy compared to getting a 17 year old to put her life into two suitcases!!!

We still haven't gotten our docs. I guess they went to our travel agent in FL and she will be sending them up to my house. I'll give it another day or so before I start making calls. The last 24 hours have been a nightmare. Figured out that my AC still wasn't fixed. (Didn't know if it was the AC or just me?) They had to turn the unit off for 6 hours to cool before working on this part. Plus he had to go get the part this AM. So last night with just fans was brutal. I almost went and sat in my van at 3 AM. So I am tired today, but at least the house is cooler. Then this morning I went to pick up another kid to take to camp with my DS, and we couldn't find him. I'm driving around the area wondering where he was. During that time, my van started to make horrible sounds. I popped the hood and sure enough I had a belt falling apart. Drove the van to the repair shop. Had a rental care company come get me. Rented a car. Found the kid who had gone back to his house for his water bottle. Took both kids to camp. It was a long two hours. I'm hoping my Ac is really fixed. I hope my DD's soccer practice is canceled. And I hope my head stops spinning. Life can sure be annoying. I need to work on cruise stuff, and not this other stuff.

Andy hope you are staying cool today. The cooler weather can't get here fast enough for me.
