Welcome aboard Molly and family!!! This is also my first cruise and I am counting the days!!! See you in 24 days.

Thank you for all the kind words about our dad. He came through the surgery with flying colors and the grandkids took extra special care of him. We appreciate it.
Elaine, Karen and Doreen :grouphug:

Let's keep our fingers (and toes) crossed for Doreen. I think we are starting to see a light at the end of the long tunnel. I hope she posts tonight. We still have to take one day at a time, but I think there are brighter days ahead.

Elaine, Karen, and Doreen........so glad things went well for your Dad. I have to admit that your entire family sounds just wonderful. You are all very lucky.

:cheer2: Molly...........WELCOME ABOARD........the two tips that come to mind (in addition to the over-the-door holder) would be chap stick and multiple sized zip lock bags (for holding from wet things to cookies).

See ya real soon,
Shirely

Lainie - So glad to hear your Dad came through with flying colors!

Mary Rose

MaryRose - I agree 3 or 4 more days I can deal with on the DCL!!! But then that will give me 3 to 4 more days at WDW after the cruise. Hmmm :woohoo: Hurricane :stir: "Cruisin Castaways??? Just a thought!!!

Four weeks from tonite is Formal night maybe I will meet my prince charming  :wizard:

Everyone have a good evening and I will talk to you tomorrow!!!

Welcome Molly - this is a great group. You'll have a great time.

Karen - if you find Prince Charming first, see if he has a rich single brother :rotfl2: Hey, at the point, I'd settle for the king lol. Not pirate:

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. I'm so excited now, but will really get more excited as soon as I receive my docs.

Each cruise I pack less and less stuff. If it doesn't smell and it isn't stained then you can wear it again.

I'm sorry but that should really be your tag line! :lmao: It just sounded so funny to me, but it is so true! I told my DH that my DS is getting one or two pairs of khaki pants for dinner & he can change right into shorts to head to the lab. I swear all I ever wore during the day was my bathing suit & a cover-up. Lie by pool, go play bingo, lie by the pool, go play trivia, lie by the pool....that about sums up my sea days! With a fru-fru drink in hand of course. Can you all tell I'm a lush??? :dance3: LOL! Just kiddin'....NOT!

Tina: I hope you can stop & take a deep breath now! Thinkin' of ya! Looks like we are following you on your excursions!

Mary Rose: Do not put the whammy on us! As much as I would love a few extra days, they would seriously cut into my BCV days! ;) Oh who am I kidding? Three more days of buffets? Sign me up!

I am really punchy tonight...can you tell? Sorry I had a miserable week so this is how it catches up to me!

Welcome Molly!

Take Care All!
Diane

:grouphug: Our Thanks To Everyone, you've really made us feel welcome on the cruise and on this board.

I've looked over ALOT of the prior postings, and most of you seam to know each other, are you related or did you meet on previous cruises? My Mom is thinking about joining us (in her own cabin). I don't mind having her aboard, but we don't want to spend all our time with her, any suggestions?

THX

All in good fun!!! :thumbsup2

I would love to be able to have a drink on the cruise, but am not sure if i would rather take bonine or have a drink!! Haven't been on a cruise in about 5 years and i had the wear the patch the last time, so i didnt get seasick. I guess i am just going to have to tough it out and not take bonine so i can be sure to have one of those sail away drinks!

You're right! That would be scary!!! LOL :drinking1 :ssst:

Susan: I think it says to drink in moderation when you're on Bonine. At least I convinced myself it did! ;)

Actually Bonine makes me so sleepy that I didn't bother taking it last time & I was fine. I will only take it if the boat is a rockin' & a rollin'! :rockband:

I don't know, I think we might just make it to 10,000 at the way everybody has been posting. It took me two nights to get through the weekends posts.

The wedding was beautiful and the 13th birthday party was fun. I got to see some family members that I haven't seen in a few years. I am so tired though, I could barely function today.

Tina - I am glad that the party went well and I hope that things continue to go as well as can be at a time like this.

Welcome to all our new cruisers.

I got so excited today, I looked at the mail real quick and saw something from Disney. I was so excited until I looked closer and realized that is was a Disney store ad. I have to get it together though. I haven't even filled out my forms online yet. I think I need to start splitting up some of my posts if we are going to make it to 10,000.

Good night to all.
Linda

Good night all

Lets see where we are in the morning as we close in on 8400

Hi Diane, I heard though you have to start taking bonine 24 hours before you get on the ship. I really dont want to take it at all. This will be our 5th cruise, 2 times on the Oceanic (big red boat) once on the Disney Magic and once on the Carnival Ecstasy. Usually its just the first night that i feel a little queasy until I get my sea legs!
Susan

I know what you mean Susan. It is usually the first night that I feel movement on the ship. The first cruise we took was with RCCL around '89. It was such smooth sailing that I had to go to the side of the boat to make sure we were really moving. With DCL, it must be something to the channel we leave from.

OH MY GOODNESS, Molly!! you live in the same town as me!!!! :Pinkbounc

What a small world!!!

Look for my pm!!!!

I heard that Bonine was different from Dramamine because you could take it at the first signs of feeling ill & it will still help. I haven't tested that theory out though, so I'm not positive. The first night is definitely the most difficult, but after that it usually doesn't bother me. Bonine is also not suppose to make you as drowsy as Dramamine, but it just wipes me out. I heard Ginger Ale helps because of the Ginger. I might try having a glass with dinner that first night!

I find those wrist thingys great to be honest! They leave marks on my wrists and are not pretty but when we go across the water to the UK, they seem to work!
