Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

Hi everyone... ahh... it's Friday night!!!

We'll be at the NJ shore this weekend, bringing DS15 back on Sunday night. We'll be leaving around noon tomorrow.

Andy: I can't find your phone number. lol I wanted to ask you if you knew what Shirley's business hours are. I just tried to call and get her voice mail. I keep forgetting to order my gift baskets!! And I want to order them while DSs aren't around, because I don't want them to know I'm ordering baskets again

Ok...regarding "Cruise 2008".... will we just change the title of this thread and keep this thread going, or start a new one? Not for nothing, but if *I* originate the thread it'd be MUCH MUCH easier for me to maintain the list on Page 1. However, if everyone would like to keep this thread instead of a new one, that's fine with me too. As much as I'd *like* to cruise DCL again in summer 2008, it's not something we're certain of, yet. That's why I'm glad we'll be booking our February 2007 cruise on this cruise, and then I'll have the opportunity to rebook while on the Feb 2007 cruise if we decide to cruise in 2008.

well i am pretty much packed and ready for 11:30 am flight tomorrow. I hoping for a smooth process with security at my airport. You all have a safe trip whenever and however you going!!

I am for Aug 2008 booking myself!! I am booked on the Med Repo for next year but maybe rethinking of not going due to what going on in the world!!
I am hoping for a special cruise for 10th anniversary!!!

I am for Aug 2008 booking myself!! I am booked on the Med Repo for next year but maybe rethinking of not going due to what going on in the world!!
I am hoping for a special cruise for 10th anniversary!!!

Terry--Shirley is usually in the shop "very early" on Saturday morning as they have to get the baskets to the port. You could probably reach her around 8am I would think, maybe even sooner.

For those starting this journey early......

If possible, can you post your airport experiences? How long security lines were, etc.

That would be great for those of us leaving late next week.

I'm reading that things have returned to normal but would like some first hand reports.

Okay, time to pull out the luggage from the attic and begin assembling the clothes. DH and I have clothes (formal wear) that we only wear on the cruise. Tells you how often we go out anywhere fancy.

Wishing everyone who gets to leave this weekend a safe flight and easy time at the airport. We will see you all at the port.

We have just redone how we are packing since everything has to go in the suitcase and not our carry ons. Of course we haven't even started packing yet but that's what this weekend is for.

I picked up pirate eye patches for the boys today that they can see through. They are very excited about them.

Anna thanks for including us in your magnet count. I can't wait to see them. I still want to make some magnets for our door (DH doesn't understand why).

Since the dates and itineraries aren't released yet, and won't be by the time we cruise next week, there's no way to know which week in August 2008 we might choose. Some of us are hoping to book an eastern itinerary, some want western, some of us want or need a specific week regardless of the itinerary, and some of us just aren't sure yet if we'll even be cruising in 2008 or not... SO! My idea is... Let's continue this thread on after our cruise next week, and just change the title to something like "August 2008" or something similar, like the June Double Dippers did with their thread, and then once the dates and itineraries come out, we can branch off into separate threads. How does that sound?

Also, I hope I didn't sound pushy or assuming when I said I wanted to be the one to start the new thread!!! Anyone can start the new thread, and keep up with the cruisers list; I don't want to be pushy and just assume that you all would want me to do it again.

I think until the 2008 dates come out and people know exactly which cruise they will be on we should just keep posting to this thread. When the 8/08 dates open and people switch to the dates they want I imagine more than one thread will need to be opened.

We plan to rebook for an 8/08 cruise. It will be our 4th.
