Yay! My HUGE box arrived today! Victoria and I were very excited but we waited until we got home from today's events to open it. :goodvibes

We received, in a Disney box:
~ A beeuteeful tote bag featuring Mickey and Minnie
~ A lovely dress for Victoria from the Disney store which matches the tote bag. This means, of course, I have lost all claim to the tote bag. How can I possibly expect her to wear the dress sans tote? They match!
~A lovely, colorful journal perfect for capturing memories or autographs
~ A travel pouch of Shout wipes. Perfect for me, I'm such a clutz at the dinner table.
~ A waterproof camera. Another item I have lost claim to already.
~Lavender and vanilla milk body cream. It smells heavenly!
~ Sunblock - 'strings attached' - pretty neat because it's hung on a rope. It'll always be with me!
~2 lip balms - one with sunblock in it. Perfecto! I'm wearing it now - it's great!
~ Mickey and Minnie soaps and shampoos. Reminds me of cruising!

I feel so lucky! The family who put together this package almost seemed to know us. All the items are wonderful and will definitely be used for our upcoming cruise with all of you! What a wonderful cruise exchange. Thank you so much for organizing this Tina.

I have been in touch with Ivan Cohuo who runs the tours as I wanted to clarify they activity level; my mother is coming along on this cruise and would like to see the ruins however her only previous excursion experience on another cruise line left her feeling a bit of trepidation about attempting one on this cruise. His response has allayed my concerns but to cut down on possible problems I'd like to arrange for a private tour with pick up and drop off at the ship, in the cooler morning hours and only for a 3 1/2 - 4 hour tour.

We are a family of 4 DH, DS(16), DMom and myself and would like to share the tour with another family. (the tour accommodates up to 10 people total) Please contact me if you're interested.

We are booked on an 830 tour with David and Ivan but sent you a pm about linking with your tour. I think its a great idea to do the early morning one as it will get too hot in the afternoon. We have to meet them 1 hour after the ship docks to start the tour.

Yes, I brought the leis, I bought them at Party City, You get 50 leis per box and I bought 2 boxes for that cruise, this one may need more. I thought they were good as when you wore it throughout the cruise people would come up to you and introduce themselves. If I was sailing with you guys I would bring them, BUT I'm not, so who will bring the leis????

Been MIA for a time...just lurking and no time to post!

Moira...where do you live in Ireland? Both of my grandparents came over to the US from Ireland...GM from County Mayo and GF from County Galway. We went over to Ireland (both grandparents were dead) but saw my GM house (actually, the foundation and chimney) in Bellmulluck (not sure of spelling) and visited with a great uncle in Athenry. My Great Aunt was Moira (isn't that Maria in the US?). My DD had an english teacher that was originally from County Tippary...her whole family is over there and she settled in our little town!!

Hi Mary Jo! :thumbsup2

Delighted to hear you were over here! Belmullet is a very remote and very beautiful part of the country! I am originally from Tipperary too (lovely place called Cashel) but ended up in Cork (married a Cork man!).

The name Moira is originally scottish (pronounced Moy Rah), it's Irish counterpart is Máire and in English it's Mary!

Looking forward to meeting you too!

Moira. :sunny:

SamRoc and bridgemanva,
Did David and Ivan get back to you in a short amount of time, because I've inquired about an excursion to Chacchoben including my 2 year old son and I haven't heard back from them? I'm wondering if I botched the inquiry form. :confused3

I've booked the dolphins for my dh and dd in Costa Maya and the Jungle break for ds and myself, but it would be wonderful for my family to be together for the day. Also, I looked into Discovery Cove (after reading that Moira and family are going there :thumbsup2 great idea) and I think we may prefer to do a Sea World/Discovery Cove mini vacation at another time to meet a dolphin, so we wouldn't be doing the dolphin excursion in costa maya.

Terry, I think that the post-drill-pre-party meet inthe lounge idea is great! :woohoo:

After reading the description on some of cruise boards I am not certain about the jungle beach break . A lot a messages have indicated the place is overrun with seaweed and the rest-rooms and food is not up to par.

We too are looking into the discovery cove /sea world as we will be in FL a few days before the cruise. Its pricey but looks real good.

Response to Hawkins Crew query:

I had sent an email directly and got a response the next day -- In the email he did mention there's been some difficulty with communications technology. I actually just sent of another email this morning to him don't really expect to hear back until tomorrow or Sunday. I'll let you know when I get a response.

Moira...she is from Thurles in County Tipparery....she said she never even saw a telephone until she came to America (16 years ago)--she said that the area she is from is very rural!

I loved Cork...isn't that where the Blarney Castle is! I remember kissing that stone (along with all of the other dumb tourists!) I also remember buying some beautiful sweaters there. Mary Jo

P.S. Almost named my DD Siobhan because I loved the way that it sounded but figured that the spelling would be murdered in the US...sometimes people can't even get the spelling of Sarah (or Sara) right and spell it Shara!

Hi, it actually took David and Ivan a few weeks to get back to me, as bridgemanva told you, they were having some problems with the internet. In about 2 weeks after I first emailed them i got the confirmation for the morning tour. They were really nice about it and apologized for the delay, we didnt mind, we are just happy to be going on this tour, my son loves history and my daughter loves pyramids so this should be a fun tour for them.
Susan

Thank you Samroc and bridgemanva!

I was more concerned about the possiblity that I didn't send the inquiry properly. From every mention of their company I've read (David and Ivan - Native Choice -- I think) I'm confident their customer service is top notch! I'm sure I'll hear from them. Thank you for letting me know that there may be a delay.

I'm not entirely convinced that my little two year old will do well on the travel to the site anyway. He was too young for the tours offered through DCL. Also, just because ds rides well in a backpack most of the time there are never any guarantees! My daughter is a nut for history and scrambling about in the woods, so I know that she would love the tour. With every Disney trip we are always faced with one wonderful choice vs. another wonderful choice so I'm sure we'll be happy wherever we end up!

Thanks again!
