Calling about codes attached to names?

I see people here frequently mentioning that they call and ask if they have a code attached to their name. How does one do that - just call the regular number and ask? Or is there another trick to it.

Any tricks on getting a code? We get codes all the time for my parents (to my email - different last name, different mailing address - I have tried to get them off my email but they never remove them - they will never go back to WDW so it stinks they get them from time to time.) I have tried using a new email for me and DH - I tried pricing out trips and saving them, tried ordering the DVD. Is there anything else I can try to do. I know it is a roll of the dice - but anything else to increase my chances?

Just call the reg line and ask if you have a PIN code attached to your name. they will look

Thank you - I wasn't sure if you could do that and if they would look - I tried that for our last trip (May 2010) and they wouldn't look so I wasn't sure if there was a trick to it...LOL

Anytime you enter a sweepstakes to win a Disney trip, or sign up for anything related to Disney, make sure you have the little box checked that gives them permission to send you emails. I went online a few years ago and searched for Disney World contests and entered a lot of them just so I could check that box. And I usually get pin codes....just not this year!

I just called hoping for a pin & nothing yet for August Still crossing my fingers for a FD pin!

Can you still use a Pin code if you made a reservation via a Travel agent? We went through a disney authorized agent, but I wasn't sure if calling asking about a pin is something I could do
