I called this morning to cancel and the rep offered me a $60.00 household rebate. If I understand right, I spend $60.00 on home related purchases (groceries, utilities, cable etc), fill out and send in their form and they'll send me $60.00. Plus, she reminded me to use my $25.00 gas voucher and threw in a one year free magazine subscription.

I agreed to keep Connections since they were offering all that. So, has anybody else gotten the same offer, accepted it and it worked out -- no troubles getting the $60.00, free magazine and gas card? It just sounds too good to be true. I'm hoping I made the right choice. In all honesty, I won't even be using the program after Disney because we live in a small town and we don't have enough of the participating stores in our area to make it worthwhile for that aspect alone. Looking just at the freebies they offered I do come out ahead though:

$79.99 (membership) - 60.00 (rebate) - 25.00 (gas card) = $-5.01 plus the free magazine.

Just wondering if a similar offer worked out okay for others ... thanks!!

I'm interested in knowing too. I was planning to cancel in about 10 days.

Thanks for posting that!!! I just called and i got the 60.00 rebate too!! I didn't even ask to cancel, I just kept asking questions and told them i was trying to decide whether or not to keep it. Which actually isn't even a lie since I was undecided-lol!!

Thank you, I wouldn't even of known to call if you didn't post!!

The $60 rebate isn't in one big chunk...they send you vouchers in $10 increments (2 vouchers) and $20 increments (2 vouchers) and they have dates on them for staggered use. For example, the first $10 rebate voucher is dated from Oct 2002-January 2003, then the next one is January 2003-April-2003, etc. They probably did it that way so you don't cancel mid-year.

Seems like a good deal if you can commit yourself to remembering to send them in. My big problem would be losing them before the year is up, but if they still have good deals when dd & I go back, I'll probably give it a shot for the food vouchers.

My tix I will stick to the 10 day WH's if paramount still has them.
