Call in to check if bags made it ?

I would have searched the forum...... but

I was wondering when we do a split stay and are doing a park on moving day... can we call in to check if our luggage has made it to the new resort and if our room is ready ?
I hate to go back all the way to the resort and then wait there.

Your bags won't arrive at the next resort until late afternoon!! And when you go to check in, you can give them your phone number and they will send you either a text or an email to tell you that your room is ready. So, you shouldn't have to worry about not knowing.

So, head over to the new resort and get checked in. Give them the phone number. If you haven't heard from them by 3pm, call them directly and see if there is an issue. If you get over to the resort first thing in the morning, you should be able to be in a room by 3.

I know I'm trying to use that day for the parks, else it would be a non issue.

I was hoping I can just head out to the parks (after giving my luggage to frontdesk at the check-out resort). Then at noon maybe call the check in resort and inquire if the bags are there and the room is ready. The reason is that if its going to be late afternoon (like 3-4pm) then we might stay at the park till then and call it a day and do some pool in the evening before dinner.
If we check in at 1pm, then we can take a mid-day break after check in and then go back to the park later.

You won't know if your room is ready until you actually check-in to the resort. There are really only 2 options if you don't want to risk going to your resort around 1 and finding the room not ready.

1. If you can, split up in the morning. If it was me, I would send my wife and kids to the park and I would head to the resort to check in. Once I did that I would head to the parks to meet up with my wife. Once the room was ready I would get the text and know we are good to go back to the resort. (actually, I have done this exact thing but in my case the room was ready at 8am)

2. Stay out until the guaranteed checkin time. (I think thats 4pm) If you spend the day out and head back in the evening your room will be ready when you check-in.

When it comes to your bags I would expect to be able to call bell services around that 4pm checkin time.

oh, and there is no reason for you to bring your luggage down to the front desk when you check out. Just call bell services and they will send someone to your room to pick them up. The will put the appropriate tags on your bags and give you a receipt.

Yep, as other posters said, you won't have any way of knowing if the room is actually ready until you go and check in. As for the bags, what I found about luggage being transferred between resorts is they typically won't arrive at the 2nd resort until 3pm at the earliest.

If you don't physically present yourself at a (any) hotel front desk where you have a reservation to complete the reservation contract, it's impossible for you to have an actual, official, assigned room at that property.

We did an extra day in December and had one day at Pop. The next morning, we just grabbed a cap from Pop to POFQ. We gave our luggage to bell services at POFQ, then checked in and left for the parks. It all went very smoothly.

Honestly? Your best bet for what you want to do is wake up early, take a taxi from one resort to the other (with your bags) and check in before going to the park. It will take anywhere from $10-$20

That way, you know your bags are there and you should put yourself in good position to get the room you want or possibly a room ready before 3.

I think OP believes her 2 stays at 2 different resorts = one long reservation. Actually, each Disney hotel reservation is separate. You have to physically check-in at the 2nd resort, just as you did at the first resort. PPs' suggestion of an early taxi ride to the 2nd resort, with your bags, is a good one. Go to the park from there, and await a text msg/phone msg when room is ready. Then call Bell Services to deliver your bags.
