call from realtor to sell or rent points

I received a few e-mails no phone calls. It sounds like most of you are having fun with these people. I guess I am to vanilla; I would just say no and hang up. ( smile) Enjoy!! ;)

WDWMOM has a good point. I also have a difficult name and can always tell when a telemarketer is calling. I immediately ask them if they are aware of the federal telemarketing communication act and tell them to put me on their no call list.

No problem!

For about two years, I have received a letter nearly every month from a broker asking if I wanted to sell my interest in my "timeshare". I don't know why this broker wastes the postage because I have never spoken to him and have never responded to any of the letters. I suppose some people must respond and DVC must be an especially profitable and easy timeshare for brokers to sell. I'm sure these persistent letters would have ended by now if the broker had not been successful using this method on others. If I wanted to sell, I would simply put a classified ad on the board at TUG (Timeshare User's Group), http://www.tug2.net/.

As for telemarketers, I frequently answer the phone by saying "bonjour". If the caller is a telemarketer, I continue speaking in French and I get a quick hang-up. Works every time.

LOL, I have always used the difficult name thing too, since they usually murder mine when a telemarketer calls. I have also used the call back technique.

The calling to see if you want to sell your DVC must be for new purchasers only. Maybe those whose sales were recorded in the past year. We have been members since 1997, and haven't gotten any of these.

Phone calls? Sheesh, thank goodness we never got that. We used to receive postcards and letters from various realtors looking to sell our interest in the DVC, like once a week. HA!! Of course that was back before we moved! It's now a problem for the people who bought our old house!

Those are great responses, though, I'll have to remember them the next time I get a call from Sprint asking us to switch long distance service.
