A funny thing just happened to me...I got a call from DVC checking up on me after sending me the video about DVC. A lady asked if I received it and if I wanted more info. I said yes and was put on hold until another lady picked up. While on hold the music played was You can fly from Peter Pan and all the sudden I was transported to WDW and all I wanted at that moment to be back there RIGHT THEN!Do you think there are subliminal messages in the music or am I just a Peter Pan wannabe who refuses to grow up LOL! I was asked by the guide if I knew anyone who was already a member of DVC. I said no but I wanted to say yes - about 200 or so! I feel like I know you all! She then began to tell me what I already knew but I wanted to hear what she said and how she said it. She was very nice and not pushy and her responses were lead by my answers to her questions. It was a VERY subdued sell. First she wanted to know how often I went to WDW and when I responded every other year she told me the basic package of 150 points could work well to get me a nice trip every other year. I told her that due to being empty nesters soon DH and I might be coming more often and then she told me about all the other places I could exchange for. So I guess they assume older people want to go other places more. Then she told me how the great value in DVC is the hedge against increases in resort rates in the future. She asks me if we stayed on site when we came to WDW and when I said yes she immediately asked where we stayed. When I told her our favorite resort was WL you could almost hear the joy in her voice! She confirmed what I have read here that they expect WLV to sell out by OCT. She also pointed out that packages of 150 to 2000 points could be bought and reminded me of the Maintenance fees. She said in response to my ? that they could be paid yearly on my MC or monthly via my checking account. She also mentioned they could finance if needed. DH and I are lucky enough (part luck, mostly hard work and sacrifice)to be able to afford to pay cash for 150 points right now. This year would be the best for us before our youngest DD heads for college next fall. I need something to do to keep from missing her, right? My oldest is moving out next month so I don't know if this is mid life crisis or not! DH and I both love WDW and like to go in spring for Braves spring training games and in the fall for short trips. Last time we went we had to leave at noon to head to the airport and DH wanted to go back into Epcot for a few hours. We (DD's) and I said no, no time and I found out later he was just crushed he couldn't go back for just an hour or two! So obviously we will be using our points if our health and wealth hold up. I also feel that resale would be very easy. I've pretty much sold myself so if anyone can give just cause as why these two should not be...... sorry wrong ceremony.... anyway......any single reason not to do this..I'd like hear your opinion. By the way the guides name was Celeste. Anyone know her? She is sending me more info and her card. I'm sorry if I've put anyone to sleep with too many details.... thanks,
MJ
