Call from Disney about our October Coronado reservation.

I’ll be there in mid-October and haven’t received a call. I’m looking forward to my stay at the tower, but certainly wouldn’t turn down a nice upgrade . . . .

I am staying in the tower even if I'm the only one there! This is my fourth attempt. The first one was immediately after it opened and I was moved because of the electrical issues, second time I had to change dates and it wasn't available for my new dates, third- April 2020, so we all know what happened there 🙄 . I am now booked for one night from 10/17-10/18, in the water view room I've wanted and I'm not going anywhere!
:rotfl2:
The funny part is-We needed two rooms for that night and adult daughter chose to stay at ASMo because she doesn't want to be a part of my "Coronado curse".

We'll be there with you!!! Also my third attempt, but due to having to keep cancelling because of Covid!

I finally called back. I got offered an upgrade to a garden view room at the Contemporary. I said I’d call back after talking to family members. We are AP holders, but with no annual pass or any discounts, there isn’t a huge price difference between our tower room at Coronado and Contemporary garden view. What would you guys do???

I would take it especially if I was going to MK during the trip.

You're staying in Gran Destino??? 100% no!!! Especially not for a garden view. 😳

Yes, Gran Destino. That’s why I was wondering, Gran Destino looks so beautiful. We use to stay at the Contemporary when my kids were small and the North wing was still there.

If they offered Yacht Club or Riviera, I'd be all over it! But definitely not for Contemporary. Yes you can walk to MK, but if that isn't a big factor I think Gran Destino and CSR as a whole has sooo much more to offer as a resort.

And Gran Destino by all accounts is a knock-out stay!

Rooms, and particularly bathrooms, at CSR are better than the Contemporary.
I find transportation at CSR highly underrated; the worst trip from either of those resorts will be Contemporary/AK.
Quick serve at Coronado absolutely sucks though; much better at Contemporary

I wouldn’t take that upgrade unless I was doing a MK heavy trip with small children.

I would do it if they offer YC/BC and maybe any other deluxe but not a CR garden wing. Now a theme park view I would go for.

So Garden View would mean you are in the Garden Wing; there is also a Std View Garden Wing room. The CR tower rooms are theme park view and lake view.

Garden wing isn’t due to be remodeled until after tower is done. Right now it seems like the garden wing go offline this late fall & winter. If they are offering her a garden view room for this October is likely to be the old theming.

Tough one. If I was heavy to MK days I’d be intrigued but I like Coronado Tower for the coffee shop in the morning, the bar at the top night, and food inside an enclosed area in case the weather goes berserk on me so I don’t have to walk out into the rain* for sustenance… I think I’d say no actually.

*I’m from CA, it’s scientifically proven I will melt in any rain that measures over half an inch/day
