Call about our upcoming vacation at AKV - Jambo ...being refurbished

Great. Is this the renovation where they take all the cool unique features out of Jambo and make it generic?

It's a soft good refurbishment. From DVCNews.com:

A soft goods refurbishment typically includes updates to wall, floor and window coverings, upholstery and fixtures. Some furniture updates may also occur. Disney Vacation Club representatives stated that making rooms lighter and brighter is among their goals when designing the new room designs.

we will be in Jambo in May. Apparently the renovations of the concierge lounge begin the week before we arrive. Will there be excess noise in the lobby area during the day since the lounge is open to the lobby? I am worried that the noise will be a problem as well in the restaurants. We were hoping for a peaceful stay since we won't be doing the parks.

I received a phone call today I had a club level 1 bedroom booked for May 12-17 and they said the rooms won't be available, it was easy they moved me to a savanna view 1 Bedroom , with club lounge access, returned points and since I had borrowed them from 2017 she returned them to 2017 so I wouldn't lose them as I have all my 2016 trips booked already. I loved the solution they had when they called me

I don't see how the work will affect the restaurants with a the exception of a later breakfast reservation at Boma as the work is 9-5 and jiko and Boma open at just about 5 for dinner maybe a little earlier than 5 but it shouldn't affect the restaurants.

We do have a late breakfast reservation at Boma. I have heard it's noisy in the restaurant itself so maybe the construction noise won't matter!

I was looking to switch a few days to kidnai from BLT/ BWV studio and see that the resort is totally booked. I had no idea.

We are arriving mid May and we just received a letter detailing the refurbishment that will occur during our stay.

We were staying at Jambo but I switched to PVB the other day. Wanted to try a new resort and it's just a quick stay before a cruise.
