Any ideas on the Californian Restaurant I heard it had awesome sushi...is that true?

Hi,

It is the California Grill which is the signature restuarant at the top of the Contemporary Hotel. Yes, the sushi is remarkable, my DH had it on our trip in Dec 2008. There is a complete list of the sushi on allears.net

If you time your dinner right, you can watch the fireworks from MK from the restaurant.

Yes! The California Grille has amazing sushi. Yoshie is their master sushi chef and she is only one of three women master sushi chefs in the country! The spicy kazan roll is a must on every trip to that restaurant.
