Welcome, Lagunn! :flower3:

I know nothing about Ceanothus (California Lilac, False Lilac, Tick Bush, Catalina Mountain Lilac), but looked up a few things for you. On a couple of sites they noted that they disliked being re-located, and that their lifespan was often over within 10 years. It sounds like you may have to purchase new bushes, sorry about that. First though, give the following links a look when you have a chance. :)

Any Buds grow California Lilac, and have suggestions for Lesley? :)

I'm a person who forever is moving things around.

One thing I've noticed when moving shrubs, they need lots and lots of water, don't give up on them when they dry up and look dead, this sometimes happens when you move things that have already leafed. You have just totally shocked this shrub, it's leaves will return, but it will need daily watering. TLC might prove the experts wrong.
