We would like to pick one of these restaurants to go to after a day at MK. We went to LTT last time and Cal Grille the time before. We are now on one of those carnivore diets and someone recommended Ohana, but I guess it's possible that Cal Grille could accomodate us as well. I realize the two restaurants have different atmospheres, but we are really open to anything that's nice and enjoyable. We are leaning toward Ohana because we have never been there before (+ I haven't been to the Poly in 30 years!)

Thanks!

If it is meat you want then 'Ohana is the place to go. All you can eat steak, pork loin, turkey breast and peel and eat shrimp. I personally am not a big shrimp fan and find the Turkey a bit bland but the steak and pork loin are incredibly flavorfull. Plus you get some salad, veggies, rice and dumplings as well as the pinapple and caramel dip after you are done with everything else.
I had the Por Loin at the California Grill too and that was awesome but I prefer the ampbiance and food at 'Ohana.

We ate at both a couple of weeks ago. I agree that the steak and pork at Ohana were the best of the 4 meats but I thought they were kind of bland without the sauce. The fillet at California Grill was an excellent piece of beef - very tender and flavorful. Of course, I ate the sauce with it too!

I preferred the atmosphere at Californai Grill once we were seated and away from the chaos of the bar and waiting area. There was a wait even with a ps though. If I could only eat at one of the two, I'd pick California Grill.

IMHO California Grill-can't be beat. Have a great time!

I think CG is much the better restaurant. But since you've been before and haven't been back to the Poly in 30 years, O'hana should be ok. Keep in mind that it's nothing like Papeete Bay Verandah which was there last time you were.
They do have plenty of meat, that's for sure. If you'd just like to eat your meal in relative calm and avoid all the shennanigans and hi-jinks, you can ask for a "quiet table" (as we did) away from the main dining area. You can still hear the noise and the children's parade will probably still come by--

We have been to both places, and they both have different positives. We did go to CG last week, without kids, and just loved it. The bass and the port were fabulous and watching the fireworks from the windows was great. However, we both agreed that our 16 year old DS would not have appreciated the atmosphere or the food! "Ohanas, to me, would probably have been our choice if he had been with us.

which do you think a 3 1/2 yo dd would like more: watching fireworks from CG or participating in activities @ Ohanas?

I believe that O'Hana's would be a better choice. There is so much fun stuff going on (like the coconut broom race, and hoola-hooping and learning how to hula)! You can also see the Electrical Water Parade from O'Hana's if you time it right. I imagine you could also see the fireworks. California Grille is a great restaurant, but primarily for adults. My children were both extremely bored at California Grille and I felt our evening was ruined because we just wanted to leave ASAP to get them out of there. O'Hana's is family friendly and the food was good as well!
