Hi all,

Wondering if I could get some information on the weather in CA for our upcoming trip in August. I am just packing and heard the weather can change based on location.

We are going to be in Anaheim, San Francisco, Hollywood, LA, San Diego, Laguna & Santa Monica.

Will the weather be fairly consistent with all those places? Just wondering if I need to pack any jeans/pants for the kids or are shorts fine.

Thanks for all your help. I posted several times on these boards and always get so much info.

TIA

For those cities, except for San Francisco, you can get away with shorts, even at night, because August is a hot month for Southern California. It may cool down in San Diego, but they should be comfortable in shorts. However, San Francisco is a different story. It can be hot in August, or warm during the day, and cool at night. Just to be safe, pack a pair of jeans for them. As Mark Twain supposedly said... "The coldest winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco".

This is probably a silly question, but is it "humid" in LA? I live in Illinois and it is really hot and sticky.

Thanks

Actually Southern California is like a coastal desert so its typically very dry. Occasionally there are periods of higher humidity but they are less seldom and nothing like the humidity of the east coast.
