California Screaming vs. WDW thrill rides

Don't rule out RnRC yet!!! I'm 54 years old, don't like big drops or loops on coasters. If you took me to another amusement park and I looked at those types of coasters outside, it would be NO WAY. But I ride almost everything at WDW (can't do tea cups, astro orbitor, maybe Body Wars).

I have no idea what Screamin' is like, but I would give RnRC more thought. The take off is amazing; it's a fast, smooth ride; and you really don't feel the "loops". If all else fails, close your eyes and scream! It's over in 90 seconds and is very fun!!

Haven't ridden EE yet, but can't wait to do so in December. BTMR is a favorite so I'm thinking I can at least do it once. You can let me know how it is :)

My first trip to WDW in 1999, I backed out on Tower of Terror THREE times. A couple of years later I was determined to do it and now must ride it every trip. When I get on it and the door to the elevator closes, I'm usually saying to myself "WHAT WAS I THINKING!?!?" :scared1: But that's short lived and I love it.

I would never want to force anyone to ride something they are unsure about and I probably shouldn't be encouraging you to try RnRC if you are hesitant. Only you know your comfort zone. I just don't want anyone to miss out on something that might be potentially great fun for them.

Good luck deciding!!!

P.S. And let me know about EE!!!

We were lucky enough to ride EE in Jan. during Cast Member previews. I say go for it! It didn't make me queasy at all. We rode it twice in a row and then once more later that day. On the other hand, sometimes RnR does. Especially if I ride it right after ToT.

As far as ToT goes, I like DCA version better because it skips the forward part, and goes direct to the best part-THE DROPS! That being said, my DD6 has been on both. She didn't like WDW because we forgot to tell her that her butt would come off the seat. :confused3 Then she rode ToT at DCA (I held her little body down with my arm) but she declared-I didn't like that one because they didn't give you time to get ready for the drops. She prefered WDW with the forward motion. So, to each his (or her) own. I've never felt the least bit queasy on ToT-it's so smooth.

Screamin' is great! One of the best rides at DCA. The others ore ToT and Maliboomer.

As far as TT goes, it's one of my DD6 favorite rides. She thinks it's one of the best!

So, these are just my (and my DD) opinions as people who have ridden the rides at DL and DCA more times than we can count and the rides at WDW alot too. Hope this helps!

Have fun! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for all your help.

I think I will do Test Track.

I will not do RnR

I will do EE (if I feel good that day!)

I will do Dinosaur

I will do ToT (if I feel good!)

I will let you know in 2 weeks how it went!! :wave2:

I am the OP of this thread.
Thanks for all your advice.
I am back, I did the rides, and here is my experience:

Dinosaur--just like Indiana Jones
Kali--Like Grizzly, but not as good

BTMR-lots of fun
Splash-lots of fun
I especially like those two at night

Space--not as good as at DL
Spaceship Earth--yes, very slow and boring. And not named correctly if you ask me!

TOT-I didn't do it. I did it at Disneyland, and didn't feel up to it here!

Now the BAD ones!!

EE--very "discombobulating" (spelling? :teeth: ) It left my head feeling totally fuzzy for a while after. I thought it was neat, but not for me!! I really did not like the backwards part at all!

RnR--very fast and freaky! I did not like the fast acceleration at the beginning, or the inversions.

Honestly, I just was praying for the two of them to be over!!
But my family really loved them and went on them a few times.

Will I go on them again....? Probably not!! But I am truly glad I did them once! :thumbsup2
