Does anyone know why California Screamin is going down in the fall? Riderefurbs.com has it down from Sept-Dec (I think those were the dates) Also the monorail down from Sept to May 2007. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would really appreciate it.
TIA!

I believe CA Screamin is going down for standard maintenance like all rollercoasters do. Supposedly this was originally planned for early 2006, but the July 2005 accident that took Screamin down for 3 months or so last year probably made them decide to delay this planned maintenance.

Monorail is going down because they are redesigning the TomorrowLand station to accomodate the Nemo Submarine ride which is adjacent to the Monorail station.

Thanks for the info. DH and DD's are very disappointed about CA Screamin. Me, I'm a little relieved, I hate big coasters :guilty:

Other than the DOSH controlled downtime from the minor accident... Screamin' has never had any downtime or a real refurb since it first opened.
Disney is getting it some work and new paint finally.

Screamin' is a real workhorse... based on capacity, launch frequency, riders per hour and DCA's reliance on it...

It's definitely gonna need some work, (it's a good thing Disney is scheduling it) especially after the upcoming heat and summer months. Cali always seems to blow a few sensors just as the summer heat begins anyway.

After the refurb hopefully the music will be up 100% of the time again and some of the noisy vibration in the green trains will be worked on.

From a Cali fan that rides a lot... it's going to be a long few months!!!
